Hero's Links
they met her in a battle colosseum they found on their travels, effectively being a side-boss. turned out to be a fight they Very Much needed, since their life of Not Being A Hero doesn't really. need much swordfighting and a lot of their skillset just involves Sword. after beating her they ended up getting drinks and hero ended up getting stuck listening to drosera talk about herself for like 3 hours. they didnt really mind, sera was paying, they got out of it with a new sparring partner. they like her a decent amount, though there's definitely a lot they don't know about her they've decided that's not really their problem.
(note: this is mid-redemption arc sera) drosera once fought hero as a Battle Colosseum Boss Thing in their game that doesnt exist. at this point, sera Is getting a bit healthier, but still sees her skill set as mostly Violent in a new path where she is uh. not supposed to do that. so getting to up and fight somebody with no stakes save for personal injury and maybe money bets is Exactly what she needed. in this fight she sort of projects on hero a bit and willingly takes on the villain role this time to give the audience a show. and she gets her Absolute Ass Kicked. this is generally the best way to get sera's respect, so she really likes them overall. she sees a bit of herself in them, and is Very interested in their journey to uh. be a person.
the only things hero really knows about trigger are things that sera has told them about her, as well as like. her general vibe. this is enough for hero to be somewhat scared of her. she has a Very icy vibe and judging by how much sera talks about her they can guess she is. Very Strong. they are overall pretty glad she does not talk to them. not like she'd get a good answer out of them anyway (Little Do They Know Trigger Does Actually Know Sign)
trigger barely acknowledges hero. since they usually only drop by to see sera anyway, if she does have any questions or additions to the conversation she'll direct them at her instead. this is less because she Doesn't have respect for them though, and more because she is Very Prickly and it takes Quite A Lot of exposure for her to get on speaking terms with anybody. she actually has a certain amount of respect for the guy, mostly because of their clear skill from beating sera, just. they mutually do not have the speaking power to chat. both of them are probably fine with that.
(note: in hero's game that doesn't exist, i think if you get to high enough respect with her you'd get to fight her. she does Really want to fight hero.)
they wouldn't admit this, they think it'd be weird, but morty's little cottage feels more like home than the village that raised them ever did. hero sees morty as a listening ear, even though they can't even communicate what they're going through a lot of the time. they also respect a comfy silence, which is rare and very much appreciated. that said, hero is a lot more Perceptive of morty's uh. Obvious Deflection Regarding Everything About Them To Become A Shoulder To Cry On For Others. they don't call them on it but they're very much Aware and in that they're kind of on a more even playing field than other characters are to morty. in the context of the game i think you can just pop in on them whenever to heal, and there's a lot of events where both of them can just sort of idle for as long as you want. if you pop by on a rainy night they might hand hero a cup of tea. if you pop by on low health hero might doze off and morty would put a blanket over them. some nights you'd see them hanging out in the garden just Watching The Stars and humming along to some other in game song. and if you pop by enough times you might hear hero join in.
morty kind of adopted hero early on after their Inciting Incident^tm, and really enjoys their company. they're less talkative than most, but morty has plenty of stuff to fill the silence. they've always got an open door for them and hero Does usually take them up on it. in the context of the Game That Doesn't Exist i think they probably have the most earlygame quests, leading to a late-game quest where i think hero finds a VERY old letter addressed to them (like, Alive them,) and while they Do do their deflection thing on if they actually remember any of this stuff, they are Very touched by it. im pretty sure the ultimate payoff to that would be hero asking that, if they're not using the name, if they could. which they're fine with but are very much hiding the fact that they think this is the sweetest thing on earth. also i dont know what the name is.
it's kinda just a weird little guy. hero doesn't entirely mind mi, though i do think while you talk with it you Will get the option to gently tell it that its rambling if it. uh. is. they don't seem too fazed by the whole "this little thing is writing the narrative" thing, maybe because it also seems just as clueless about a lot of major plot events as they are. i think mimii would ask them if they have any questions after explaining that and there'd be an option to ask a really dumb unrelated question. maybe if you pick that one this can become a bit in future encounters.
mimii sometimes pops up in random places for the hero to find, but not really to help them out any. it kind of just rambles. it's not unhelpful on purpose, though, more that it doesn't really know How to help them in a lot of instances. it seems to like talking at hero, though now that you think about it, it doesn't seem like it dislikes any of the people hero sees it hanging around. if you listen to it for long enough it might like you enough to give you quests but theyre probably kinda left-field. i keep thinking about it asking them to find it music recs for whatever reason.
