About

Vera has lived a mostly uneventful, fairly simple, though comfortable life. Any bigger dreams she had when she was younger were put on hold indefinitely when she met her future husband. Truly, her heart was never really into being a mother and housewife, but due to his insistence, and the expectations of women living in her generation, she felt as if she didn’t have much of a choice. She did her best raising her first two boys (with the “help” of endless glasses of wine), while her husband sat back and let her do most of the hard parts of parenting. Having a third, unexpected child in her middle age, right when she was expecting her sons to soon move out, and then going through the “scandal” of having her then sixteen year old son have a kid of his own, pretty much sapped what was left of her strength. These days she spends a lot of her time hiding out in the bedroom, avoiding conflict and only coming out to do basic housework.

Personality

She is about as low energy as it gets, her personality doesn't come through much because she is simply too apathetic and "lazy" to express herself. She spends as much time as possible sleeping and is known to sometimes pass out on the couch. The term "wine mom" definitely applies to her, she drinks heavily, every day, and has a very high tolerance, rarely ever getting extremely drunk (she falls asleep before that happens.) She's a sad person and it doesn't take much to bring down her mood, though she will usually only cry in private. She doesn't express anger much either, and is quick to avoid conflict and arguments, either by begging people to just let it go, or literally getting up out of the room and leaving. She's also quite a sentimental person and often likes to reminisce about old times (and is totally the kind of mom to take out an album of embarrassing baby pictures to show her kid’s friends.) Although they weren't exactly what she wanted out of life she does love her boys, and her husband (to a slightly lesser extent maybe), even if she isn't always the best at expressing it.

Her voice is very "sleepy/tired" sounding, she yawns a lot and often speaks slowly, or starts to trail off as if she can't remember what she was trying to say. Beyond that there's nothing really notable about it, other than a slight raspyness. (She smokes fairly often.)

Appearance

Hair: A very dull brown color, it's starting to go grey and there are several streaks of grey/white throughout. It's a bit frizzy-looking and cut to about chin-length, and is parted in the middle.

Eyes: Hazel and very tired looking, always with pronounced dark circles underneath.

Build: Fairly thin, and though she isn't very tall her arms and legs appear long, even her neck is long and "swanlike."

Scars/Body Modifications/Other distinguishing features: One earring in each lobe, light freckles only on her face.

Clothing: She wears plain, simple dresses, usually in earthy or pastel tones, always at least past knee-length.

Trivia

• Her constant tiredness isn't just her being lazy, she is actually narcoleptic but has no idea, and was never diagnosed with it.
• She loves to cook! It's the only thing in life she really has any real passion for or puts any energy into.
• Though she was able to cut back a lot on the alcohol with her first kid she couldn't manage it with the second and drank quite a bit while pregnant with him, which might explain some of his health problems.
• She does have some interest in decorating as well and loves flower prints especially.
