Overview

NEBTOY TEREANUMN KEIIFLE MINKA
"lord of the world, born beloved by fifth, dying in the name of justice"

Kosey is an old vampire, which behaves like a wise grandad. He believes that he is "The Last King of the Third House". In fact, he isn't. Such a self-identification is a delirium. But nothing prevents Fido to think so in the end.
By the main part of the story, Kosey is the leader of "lost for society ones" shelter and has fame of "wicked ancient undead from the Dead House" [it's a quite exaggerated opinion, but he likes such kind of pompous titles]. So far, he lives side by side with his "minions" and ghosts in an old forest hospital.

Information

Life

  • Kosey thinks that he is The King *. But he doesn’t prove this, doesn’t argue and doesn’t seek to take this place officially [since he believes that this is all already official and proved].
  • Has no common moral boundaries, he still lives by obsolete concepts of the crime world. This cause conflicts with modern etic/culture in perceptions of “proper doings” and “correct decisions”;
  • He is an old lazy cat. But he thinks that it’s difficult to find a worthy candidate for work and therefore many things he has to do on his own;
  • Very fond of shiny stuff, gold, trinkets, museum relics from III House. Very, very-very much loves gifts and shiny-glory-sugar-sweet pronouncing like “Your Greatest Mighjesty of Deserts, Rivers,…”; He easily fall in nice relationships with beings which doing this;
  • Poor. “Actual money” don’t stay in his paws for long due necessary of residence fixing, medical help for him and minions, and “I want this trinket”;
  • Perception of reality is strongly distorted. He sees too much symbolism and signs in everyday life. The conclusions about this are quite specific and have references to the native mythology.
Personality

  • Thinks that every shadow may be useful, and everyone may earn mercy and be forgiven;
  • Incredibly narcissistic. And he loves cats very much. And, considering that he is a big cat, his love for himself is absolutely bottomless;
  • Absolutely tranquil, very calm and patient;
  • He tries not to interrupt the interlocutor and let them finish. He always listens very carefully and criticizes each detail with quoting, but tries to do it constructively;
  • But he is almost devoid of self-criticism. He’ King. “Kings is always right”;
  • He tries to pay attention to subordinates’ behavior and speech, mental well-being. Kosey may start highly-philosophical discussions about the meaninglessness of existence as an attempt to bring comfort. But he’s blind in terms of other’s moods and feelings. His approach often doesn’t suit the situation because of his misunderstanding;
  • Smarty. Quickly understands things and can change his approach to a situation or planned way of actions in a case this necessary;
  • He extremely afraid to die and crocodiles. Especially crocodiles.

Delirium

Fido's "pharaohtism" is a wrongly glued together logical conclusions of the shattered Core. [reference - delirium of greatness]

At a certain point in the character’s story, his most important organ (the Core) split into several fragments. Kosey's mind tried to find the truth through pieces of the memory associative database. In the end, all the information strongly mixed in random proportions and order, became an epic-error-cocktail.
Here's the examples of “wrong memory reading”:
Kosey is sure, he now the “Lord of the Great House” only because he remembers that father’s place in criminal hierarchy was ironically called the “Pharaoh”. Kosey thinks now that his paws touch the ground of the “another side of the world” since the III House he lived in whole his life is currently called “the Dead House” by locals. He may be only doesn’t sure, is it exactly the side of the dead (it isn't so heavenly as he expected).

Responsibilities

But he's confident that he is “The Greatest in the world of chaos”, and he has grand responsibilities.
All his visual behavior and speaking style based on "I'm the King, Kings have to..."
...feel no fear;
...help his devotees;
...be strongest;
...be forgiving"

and etc. same-spirit phrases.

His delirium make him feel important, the “only one enough mightful dude to save everyone’s butt in this world”. He isn’t competent in such matters, but this feeling makes Kosey pretend a “big leader” anyway.

He's a smart cat but he doesn’t know, how to work with the community. He believes that making everyone be scared by giant strict paw is not the best way to “create kingdom around own image”. But his own [based on "parent->child"] efforts also doesn't work.
As a rule, his lack of understanding of other’s feelings leads to his own overworking. “Fine," - He says, - "you’re just a mortal poor being, your Greatest will make this work for you then.”; He definitely may make lots of work, but not perfectly as a result [not even "fine", since his approach doesn’t suit modern times he lives in and considered as “evil deeds” from time to time]. Moreover, this patronage style makes his subordinates and partners pretty infantile, and that’s going to general fails in their already not-the-best situation.

But the “tiny kingdom”, which he managed to create in the end, is really pretty soft in terms of approach to each other and him. Even when everybody knows that Fido isn’t “The Pharaoh”, they still call him so, and even believe his plans. All that make the cat quite happy.

Shattered Core

Kosey's Core fell apart due to bad luck and his own fault.

Pulling the Core out of his own head was his idea. Kosey was afraid to die due the vampirism or other circumstance. He thought that hiding the Core from the danger of the outer world would be a good way to become “absolutely immortal." But he chose the wrong time and place to carry out such a project. The III house in which he lived fell, the filigree sorcery was interrupted, and the lion lost parts of his precious mind in the ruins. Maybe “Measure of chaos” was a bad source to hold something in order or to save someone’s life after all?

Thought, the Core is still working. Pretty bugged, as we can see, but still working. Albeit to pull out the vampire’s Core somewhere is the questionable idea in general. Now, this thing performs the "passive vampire stuff", and it “eats” everyone and everything approaching it. In Fido's project, there were certain calculations on this topic, a special battery that was supposed to replace the source of energy for the Core and prevent the harmful effects. Well, it isn't possible to implement this plan now, after all the things happened.
At the moment, pieces of the lion's Core are scattered in different directions, and they eat/destroy the places on which they lie, turning them into sand/dust. Of course, this caused a huge number of problems, for the sorcerer, for those around him, and the subsequent story too.

Currently, the goal of the character is to correct mistakes, collect all the shards of the Core that are lost due to the destruction of 3rd House, and find a new battery to complete his pretty weird project. He doesn't give up.
But his goals are perceived incorrectly by locals due to various reasons. Indeed, you never know what a lich-vampire might really want, especially when he so confidently declares that he is the ruler of the world and your master in particular.

Pros and cons

1] Shattered Core gives Fido a possibility to lose fear of hits in his head. Everything still damaging his body, bring him pain, degenerates his aging stage and may disorientate/paralyze/etc., but he will remain functioning until his jaw or his Core parts can eat. Core eats everything. Including floor.
Although, while his Core fell apart and located non-within-it's-master, it is possible to find and destroy Core shards. Such a situation will either fatally disrupt the system of the lion’s body&mind, or immediately kill him, depending on the found part. [Just like classical lich, you know]

2] Fido was an entropy sorcerer, but these skills are banned 'till his Core is shattered; He cannot neither use magical abilities, nor shape-shifting.

3] Kosey's official place in society is "nobody and nothing." But the way he positions himself has a different effect on the interlocutor. He can meet both an aggressive response and a naive trust. Thus, his delirium can both ruin the situation and help in specific cases.

Design

Appearance

  • Portrait: Small nose. The tip of the nose is "stooped" down. Big ears. Has a big hole in the left one. Small round chin;
  • Mane: Short, curly mane, almost doesn't cover his shoulders;
  • Body: Non-athletic build, sloping [if makes sense to use the word in terms of an animal at all] shoulders and soft lines of body and muzzle. But it's still a lion, so, he looks big and strong enough [next to the dog maybe].
  • Gait: As a rule, walks slowly, very strange and devoted "king's charm" or even "cat's elegance".
Behavior

  • Speech: Talks quiet but by long sentences, fulfilled with deep-meaning stuff. The essence of his words may be problematic to understand [But he easily will make a "translation" if asked. After all, "it's okay for lower beings to miss the gist,"- he thinks.]. He has a very bad-sounds voice;
  • Face: Muzzle expression are very weak and looks unnatural if presence; Shows emotional movements/voice emotions to share "general information about a situation" with his interlocutor, but it always sounds and looks pretty dry;
  • Quirks: Fido is trying to minimize tactile contacts. He raising voice and show teeth when someone dared to touch him without his permission. Albeit the lion thinks that he may touch anyone anytime;
  • Preferences: Loves to be te-a-tet with himself, sleep all alone, read in silence, play with sparkling trinkets or non-smart kitties. But alcohol and sweets make him more sociable.
Details

  • Loves to wear shiny stuff of any type and prefers white textile covers;
  • His pre-virus appearance was pretty healthy, and back-up to this save-point heals his scars;
  • His mane thicken [by chest and belly line]. Mane and fur became darker in the process of starving/aging, until the moment of "undead stage". In the next steps, he loses fur and mane.
  • Lots of his teeth were replaced by gold prostheses because of unhealthy of his jaw. The natural ones look pretty bad, yellow too;
  • He's some chemical stuff, some natural oils, and some food allergic.

Trivia

Vampire

Vampirism is an ancient virus, created by Waka. It has an influence on the whole creature, including individual code and whole body system.
Currently, vampirism strongly mutated and get the status of "deadly disease", since it "turn on aging mod" in creature body, and age, you know, led to natural death.

Basics
Vampires may eat everything impulse-having [alive], it depends only on the durability of thing they try to bite. Passively they "steal" some energy even w/o any aggressive actions, but bite always gives them more. Since Fido hasn't core inside, he has only one way for the regeneration, the biting way. [It's a reason why he's a "Bite-King"]

Self-Disintegration
Vampires get self-damage by the virus they have. Fido gets old and his appearance degenerates to the dry mummy stage in the end, what devote him possibilities to talk and think clearly.
In fear to die, he may use his allies as a regeneration resource, if nearby no accessible foes.

Weaknesses
1] Burn him down, bury him w/o access to impulse resources, break his jaw or spine - perfect ways to stop him. Poisons [as additional unceasing damage to basic virus self-damage], deep isolated places [like water or ground] - his main foes.
2] Can't enter Houses without an invitation [he'll suffer from anti-virus and lamp lght will work like a classical undead-burning sun];

Name

Kosey Holdyn Fido tan Zuka [“Deep valley of faithful lions’ tombs“ in artistic reading or ”Deep (i.e. “dark and cold” about a fur color) and faithful (for a social place) by the lioness of graves/tombs (about a parent)” literally] It’s Fido’s full name; first of all, locals love long names. Also, it means, that this lion is one of “Uhem“/the “symbolic/sacred animal“ * *.
“tan” means “belong to madam/by madam” in terms of names, thus Kosey’s surname and all the social privileges are inherited on the maternal side. He is a “sacred animal” only because of her place in the religious part of the House.

**Fido was born and belonged to den of the 3rd floor(“Valley of the Kings”), one of the local necropolises and lion-related cult.

Random facts

  • He likes sweets and beer. Beer is his "ritual drink", and this "ritual" is best conducted as often as possible and even with the company.
  • Also, he loves books. He thinks, that it's okay to kill for some of them;
  • Worships nonexistent gods. But it's a quite frivolous hobby;
  • All his "minions" aren't "minions" literally. His "kingdom" consist of free-willed beings, they just friends/money doubters/need a place to live in/etc., so they hang out with this lion because of individual reasons. But he thinks that he rules them;
  • His delirium can’t be fixed itself or by medicaments. But fixing the Core is the way to change something. Kosey doesn’t feel the problem himself, so, he tries to fix Core only to restore his magical abilities.
