Cheat

He could've turned out like any other-- though it seemed like that wasn't in the cards for him.
The body.. had to be right, had to be perfect. Unfortunately it seemed like the choice he made
wasn't.. the right one, wasn't what was meant to be his. A dying human, fatally injured, just happened
to cross paths with him at the right moment. They were.. happy, to be found even in such a sorry state.

Taking one look at the wormling's fading colors, they knew-- he would soon be facing the very same
fate as they would. Unbeknownst to the two, they were being watched. The gods were witnessing
the dilemma, and promptly decided on taking a bet. Would the wormling take the human's body,
or would it refuse yet again?

"We've.. got something in common, it seems..." The human pushes out a laugh-- more and more
of their blood pooling around them. "It's not right, I know-- you'll be facing a lot of hardship," their
tired, weak eyes look at the one carried by the wormling, "..but it's okay if you take mine. Live on,
consider it a gift from me." The wormling, despite it's born aversion to the body of the human..
had hardly any choice-- the human's compassion and consideration barely played a role in
the wormling's attempted survival, but it certainly seems he would later on be influenced by it.

Well, seemed like the gods' bet was decided. The wormling had taken the host; though a sudden
realization made one of them act out-- they could simply crack his eye, allowing them to win the bet!
though even despite that interference, a new CCCat was brought into the world, a cracked eye would
be all that was left as a reminder of the god's attempt to cheat a win after an embarrassing losing streak.

"You cheated." That was the first thing he heard after waking up in his new, forbidden body. Was that
directed at him? Vague, blurry memories fade in and out of his mind, something feeling.. terribly wrong.
He was a cheater. And... it seems like the newly born CCCat had taken a liking to the sound of that.

Cheat, yeah. That's what he was. That's who he was.
