Fun Fact

Princess Sciencia, now known as Fun Fact, was the sole child born to Princess Celestia during her reign. She entered the world many years prior to Twilight and wasn’t well known outside the castle due to her mother’s overprotective nature. As a result of Luna’s banishment, Celestia was quite the micromanager when it came to her daughter for fear of losing another family member to dark magic.

As Sciencia had been unplanned and hidden away from the public, there were very few ponies with knowledge of her existence. She spent the majority of her life within the castle walls, unable to attend school or socialize with other ponies outside her mother and castle staff.

Due to this, Sciencia plunged herself into her reading and became very knowledgeable on many different subjects. She loved to ask questions and deepen her research however possible where it got to the point where she’s beg staff to bring her new book releases to keep herself entertained.

As she grew older, and Celestia began grooming her for the throne, Sciencia began questioning her mother’s way of ruling and asking for permission to read books regarding dark magic, etc that her mother had locked away. Celestia refused and after some time, Sciencia rebelled. Sciencia didn’t wish to utilize the dark magic for dark purposes as she truly had just wanted to read to learn but Celestia saw it as the precursor for a second coming to Nightmare Moon and Sciencia was stripped of her alicorn powers and banished to the Everfree Forest. To prevent her from returning, she wiped the memories of the castle staff as well. 

It’s thought that perhaps Celestia chose Twilight due to her similarities to Sciencia  - not only in her fur coloring but in her quest for knowledge and Iove of reading. Seeing her mistake in cutting Sciencia off from the world, Celestia instead chooses to push Twilight to make friends changing Sciencia’s role as Princess of Knowledge to Twilight’s as Princess of Friendship.

But what became of Sciencia - well from her hours upon hours spent reading whatever she could get her hooves on, Sciencia survived in the Everfree forest through wilderness know how though not without struggle - her bitten ear was the result of a fight with wildlife and her front leg had been badly broken and must be kept bandaged to give her some support when walking.

Sciencia dubbed herself Fun Fact as an ironic play on how her mother use to tease her as a child as she desperately ate up any fun fact/ trivia that staff would share with her.

Despite losing her alicorn powers (her broken horn and ripped wings her mother’s form of physical reminder to never challenge her authority), Sciencia still has the immortality of an alicorn princess and wanders Equestria reading and learning to her hearts content while also sharing fun facts with anyone who will listen. She keeps up with royal news and holds resentment towards her mother, yet not towards Twilight though she does envy her and wishes to meet her as she feels akin to her and worries that Twilight idolizes Celestia to a dangerous degree.
