Alex Sojourner

Alex Is a transman torturing himself with the treasure he unearthed while squatting at the Akester mansion. An orphan, Alex essentially abandoned whatever homes they tried to store him in and became a wandering vagrant working to survive. Being AFAB uhhh was not good, in that regard. After finding the Siphon, however, he’s basically been able to modify himself to his liking, but not *easily*. Ever done your own top surgery? No?

The Siphon, being a well of immense power and wrapped in a lot of confusing rules became bound to Alex the moment he tried to use it. It holds the power of every person who has ever wielded it, after all, but every last one of those people are Quintessians. Aka, they can do magic. Alex, however, cannot-- and so The Siphon is nearly impossible to figure out on his own. And unfortunately, there are a lot worse side effects than just that. Being essentially a rando means the Siphon is trying to sap the life out of him. Constantly. And to fix this, Alex needs to absorb the energy of others— not to the point of killking them, obviously-- but its incredibly stressful. More importantly, while figuring all this shit out, Alex realizes there are larger forces at play In the world— for Alex has a specific talent up his sleeve.

He’s an empath, of sorts. That means he can see, feel, and experience people’s entire lives and / or have prophetic dream-visions. He’s got visions of a terrible horrific woman whose entire goal is to, y’know, kill everyone and everything and basically clear up all the vermin that she calls humanity. Having the Siphon means that, maybe Alex can do something about it! Nevermind the constant ghosts that the Siphon produces from time to time that exist solely to badger, torture, and harass him as much as possible. They don’t want him in possession of it, obviously…

Alex is short, stout, and dark-skinned with a super rad mane of black hair. He’s got a baby-face and the lack of testosterone means he can pass as a teenager easily. But he hates the way he looks, even though he’s been able to fix the whole ‘boobs’ thing. There’s a big difference between removing boob tissue and performing a hysterectomy. Realistically he barely survived the boob removal-- i mean, he can’t die until the siphon eats his soul, so no amount of blood loss or physical agony would actually kill him, but that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t suck and also be potentially incapacitating… permanently. Lol.

Tl;dr: Short squishy transman uses a magic ring to steal people’s life energy in an attempt to save the world, but when he dies he will literally be consumed by the ring itself as a penance for being a fucking idiot.
