Aspiring • Blunt • Cowardly • Supportive?
To the naked eye Thales is a perfect gentleman. Generous, respectful and well mannered, he can easily charm his way in and out of conversations (mainly the latter). Even when others question the authenticity of his actions, Thales can easily soothe doubts with flattering words and simple compliments. He offers his support when possible and is happy to set an example for others.
However this is simply a mask that Thales has crafted for the public. Underneath Thales is a dreary being. His gentle voice turns sarcastic, almost to the point of rude. His mood is sullen and tired, only wanting to be left alone. While he never truly lies, his words are harsh and can cut deep with the truth. In a dying world there is only so much to look forward to after all. He isn't afraid to be the first to turn tail when the going gets tough and is more than happy to throw someone else under the bus if that means he's spared from punishment.
While he has never mentioned his past, Thales is wracked with regret and doubt from before. He worries that he may never be enough. That he can never make amends and become a better being.
Despite all of this, the mask Thales dawns for others helps him cope with his fears. If he's all smiles and sunshine no one will find him unpleasant and want to push him away. If he's likable, life is easier. Simple as that. And deep down Thales wants to be a good friend. Someone true to their word and desires. He wants to fight his demons and prove that he can be a worthy being.
Lately Thales has been slipping up with his performances. Cracks in his mask threaten to reveal who is truly running the show. The question is when the time comes, will he be able to face what he truly fears?
For My Next Act: Thales performs in order to survive and has learned the art of being charming as a result.
Supporting Cast: To help keep the persona he plays, Thales will try to rally the spirits of his teammates and those around him.
Anticipation: Since Thales always expects the worst to go wrong, therefore he always tries to prepare for any fallout that may happen.
I Can Only Count to 4: Thales was spoiled as a child and as a result he lacks critical thinking needed to evenly assess situations.
Tail Tucker: If it's obvious that he’s at a disadvantage, Thales will immediately try to flee.
Lonely Road: When given the choice, Thales will choose to be on his own even at the detriment to his well being.
Born middle child of a large family, Thales had a closer bond with his mother than his father. As they grew older, their spoiled temperament often clashed with their father. Thales eventually joined a gang known as the Swallowtails in an abandoned human settlement to prove himself. Unfortunately gang life proved to be too much for him, resulting in the death of his closest friend. Unsure what to do, Thales flees his and takes to a life living as a wanderer. He develops a fake persona to interact with those who he comes into contact with but it puts a great strain on his psyche. At one point Thales is severely wounded and decides to succumb to his injuries, only to find he was saved by a doctor named Johannes. Outraged, he leaves as soon as he is healed. Thales continues to wander around until he saves a cat named Chastin from a dog. He grudgingly agrees to travel with her, struggling to keep his more wretched side hidden from her. The two see a comet fly through the sky one day before his vision fades to white.
