strong-willed and independent, waningmoon was chosen by her father to be the next heir to his throne: the monarch of their province. however, waningmoon has different ideas about her future. painstakingly trained for the leader role, waning would rather lead her own life than follow in the footsteps of another, and is highly reluctant to inherit her father's title. though she's hard working and responsible when she sets her mind to it, she also has a penchant for slacking off and slipping away to spend her time how she pleases: typically by hanging around city cats and picking fights with them. she frequently wanders outside province borders, curious about the world beyond.

while he's amicable and playful with his friends and others he trusts, he's aloof, harsh and standoffish with those he doesn't. he may sometimes come off a bit smug; considering his royalty status as well as his fighting prowess, he tends to feel untouchable in a lot of situations, though he never actually flaunts his birth title. in fact, waning would rather live without it, and enjoys having an "anonymous" presence in the city, where others assume him as just another stray. unfortunately, his tendency to pick fights has garnered a reputation for himself--it seems it's rather impossible for waningmoon to remain hidden for long. he's a good soul at heart; he has no issue with sticking up for what he believes in and frequently clashes with rogues who oppose his morals--that, and he loves putting low-lifes in their place.
his parents worry about what to do with him, but his father insists he inherit the throne instead of his sister, eclipsemelody, who resents waningmoon for being the chosen heir.

no matter how harsh he may sometimes come across, waningmoon is a naturally curious individual who loves observing the world around her with a surprising amount of gentleness, and is especially kind to those who are vulnerable. she would always step in to protect someone who needed it, and secretly enjoys being helpful. she's thoughtful towards those she cares about, and keeps her friends close: especially tawnygrove, her best friend since kithood, and hauntingloon, her mate.
