Nurse Eshren has spent most of his time learning medicine. He and his cousins often got into trouble as kids or in their youth. He felt some responsibility to learn something relating to medicine so he could help his family out. Sure it was basic things, like bandaids or how to use a hypospray, but it was something. He started to take an interest after seeing the amount of trouble a pair of his cousins got into trying to make rockets one time. After seeing the burns they got from the failed attempt, he definitely wanted to make sure they could go on doing whatever as long as he was able to keep an eye on them. Being the oldest amongst his cousins, Eshren was the first to go into medical school and later join Starfleet. He learned about the same material about how to be a doctor and then some. His first post was aboard the U.S.S. Constellation. Where he served as a nurse for a few years before transferring to join the U.S.S. Enterprise shortly after Captain Christopher Pike stepped down from commanding the ship. Eshren has his gripes with his boss, Dr. Leonard McCoy, but does value whatever advice and lessons he can learn from him. He’s a bit of a goofy guy, jokes about things to keep a lighthearted air around him, and is known for his overall friendly demeanor. His real goal is to become a doctor so he can look after his cousins whenever they’re able to command a ship of their own. He prefers to keep a close eye on people he cares for and tries to make an effort to make sure that those around him knows he cares.
