About

63133503_NRXhcZDNI4K7IzX.jpg

Suki and Tamago are two peas in a pod, unseperable and able to communicate seamlessly. Young Suki speaks Inklish, Octarian, and Salmonid fluently thanks to her...odd upbringing. She is endlessly energetic, curious, and almost painfully sweet, able to make friends by quite literally killing her enemies with kindness.

She loves Turf Wars, preferring the simpler Splattershot Jr, and loves Splatsville. The energy of the city and the colors make her happy. Meeting new people and participating in Splatfests are a joy to her. She is more than happy to buy team food tickets and share the rewards and only seems to get upset if she feels she personally isn't performing at her best. Losing does not bother Suki - in fact the only thing that does seem to bother her are those who participate in Salmon Run.

Story

Early Life

An Octarian by the name of Kaito Chiharu was assigned a devision in relations with the Salmonids to communicate and trade with them, ensuring deals went seamlessly. The last Octarian had disappeared and added pressure was on Kaito to do his best, work his hardest, and make sure the Octarians benefited most from the trade deals.

And to his benefit, he was good at his job - he communicated seamlessly with the Salmonids and built strong relationships with several key members of their society, learning more about them with every meeting. In particular, a Salmonid by the name of Okono, attended the meetings more frequently than others and pressed to speak to Kaito even after trades concluded. The Salmonid was young, a few years from maturity, and yet was desperate to learn of the world - and especially of Octarians. He had been curious what made them different than Inklings, why Inklings seemed sworn to interfere with their spawning behaviors while Octarians weaponized and supported them.

Kaito stayed behind after trades to sit and speak with Okono and the two found a friendship forming. While Kaito new of the Octarian world underground, Okono knew of vast oceans, cities, towns, and wonders Kaito was ignorant to. The two kept their relationship going throughout the years, educating the other, even bringing gifts to eachother. Okono was a shockingly good cook and Kaito snuck the other special weapons attuned to the Salmonid to utilize.

Years passed and upon a faithful evening, Kaito arrived to negotiate per usual only to find Okono alone and is his mature coloration. He urged Kaito to come with him, to leave the Octarians and explore the world beyond - the Salmonids would protect him and cover his disappearance seamlessly. Kaito shocked himself that he agreed without much thought, leaving his Octarian gear behind for the 'seamless' disappearance Okono promised, and leaving under worn tarps that smelled of salt water.

Life Outside

Okono had been planning to whisk Kaito away for quite some time it seemed, having a little house situated for the Octo as well as simple furnishings. Okono left for spawning shortly after and Kaito found himself with nothing to do but study and learn in this odd village he was in. He was welcomed warmly, albeit with a bit of distrust from some of the older inhabitants, as he had been spoken of fondly and was known through word.

It unfortunately was weeks until Okono returned and it was with sadness that he had been unsuccessful, Salmon Runners having prevented his group from properly...spawning. The idea of a child of his own was not unwelcome, Kaito realized, and he had seen the little ones scurrying about the village. It was with a lot of testing and science that he not only made child-rearing possible for him, but Okono as well.

After MUCH trial and error, Kaito was able to give them both exactly that - children.

Life Flourishes

Suki and Tamago were brought into the world simutaneously and raised side by side by their fathers. Suki has never known a world without Salmonids, learning and growing with her brother. The two were taught Inklish, Octarian, and Salmonid to assure communication was never an obstacle, and Kaito took both to the outside world and Splatsville on multiple occassions to explore, learn, and bring supplies back to the village.

Kaito picked up sewing and creating outfits for the two (and himself) as well as buying them, though Suki's signature rain hat and jacket are adorable and keep her safe from the ocean spray on trips to and from Splatsville. The siblings became old enough that they were allowed to travel on their own and took the ship when possible to the mainland, playing and running about the winding, chaotic streets of Splatsville.

Trivia

  • Suki and Tamago were designed by nemiart !
  • The duo immediately had gay dad energy for me - so why not make them siblings?
  • Okono is the more relaxed father while Kaito frets and worries over the two in Splatsville.
  • Tamago tends to match outfits with Suki, not requiring clothes, but wanting them anyway. Kaito is an excellent seamstress.
  • Suki was taught battling with Kaito's old inkbrush, but she prefers a Splattershot Jr to learn the ropes of turf wars.
