Bruce has sharp senses, quick focus, and has impressive strength. His wit and brawn are a dangerous combination, earning him the title of Battle Master. He is analytical and good at picking out details, however he can come across as a bit blunt and rough emotionally. He tends not to take bad news well, especially if it's particularly disheartening. Since the death of his wife nearly 20 years ago he’s battled with depression and can come off as pessimistic and downhearted without intending to.
HISTORY
Bruce and his older brother, Heath, have always had a fascination with Pokémon. At an early age there was both fear and admiration for the beasts. The two were always close, and helped one another. Bruce was incredibly athletic and quick, while Heath had to cope with a chronically injured leg after a break. Still Heath was not discouraged by his disability and took interest in building weapons and armor his brother could use.
The two were an excellent team and thanks to the master craftsmanship Bruce became an excellent defender. In his mid-twenties Bruce married a florist/gardener. A woman named Jane. The two were very giving to the community, and Jane always took time to make jams and preserves from the berries in her garden for the community. When Bruce was around 30 he got into training and capturing Pokémon as a way to aid the blossoming village. However when Jane moved a Cascoon from her garden thinking it was a Silcoon instead she was unknowingly stung and succumbed to the poison before Bruce could get help.
Bruce’s accomplishment as the Battle Master was earned after he threw himself into work as a distraction from his wife’s death. Almost 20 years later he still finds the topic of romance, love, and marriage to be depressing.
