Picaresque Masquerouge is a creature born of dreams of finally figuring out that theory, fixing that hole in the story behind the story, while the monsters you research smile at you. The Treatling themself is friendly, if a bit shy, and spends most of their time in the library-Castle they call home. They seem to be doing research of their own, as evidenced by the boards filled with strung-together photographs and the constant, near-silent hum of the computers.
Biography.
Backstory
Picaresque was born shortly before the fall of Treatropolis. They did not have much of a life that they remember beforehand, but that time was short and war-torn in any case. The corrupted Sun forsook them, perhaps out of scorn or perhaps of the knowledge that this particular Treatling preferred to observe rather than act. Instead, they lost their sapience and became a Treat.
Current Day
The small creature found its way to a Stygian known as Jung, whose kingdom and general mien seemed to somehow coordinate with the Treat. She correctly guessed the first part of their name, deeming the creature “Picaresque” or “Pica” when in a more playful mood. After some time together, Picaresque once again became Masquerouge, and took their leave of their friend and guardian.
