Erika Carter

Erika hasn’t had the easiest of lives. She once was originally a human, living her days as a student in a modest household. When Erika was 14, her mother died in a car accident. The hairpiece on Erika originally belonged to her mother but was gifted it after the funeral. Her father never took the accident easy though. He began to drink alcohol more and began to show some abusive tendencies. 

By 19, Erika was wanting a new lease on life. She had a high school education but college wasn’t completely feasible nor could she decide a path to take. Her father ‘s relationship was strained as well and despite trying to make peace with him, he ended up being unable to take of care. 

Just when it seemed like things however would become worse, she was given a rare opportunity. Before Child Protective Services could take her away, she had ran off to a secluded beach, only carrying the clothes on her and her mother’s hairpiece. While she was there, moping about her circumstances, a mermaid heard her sorrows and offered her a chance to change her life, becoming a mermaid. Erika had always loved the ocean and decided that with circumstances the way they were to take the opportunity. She says she doesn’t regret it ever since.
