I love a good insult, even one directed at me. When I set my mind to something, I follow through no matter what gets in my way. I watch over my friends as if they were a litter of newborn pups. I face problems head-on. A simple direct solution is the best path to success.
Bound in service to House Hyyde.
I feel as if I am always right, and correct, regardless of whether I am wrong, or not.
Once you have bonded a weapon to yourself, you can’t be disarmed of that weapon unless you are incapacitated. If it is on the same plane of existence, you can summon that weapon as a bonus action on your turn, causing it to teleport instantly to your hand. You can have up to two bonded weapons, but can summon only one at a time with your bonus action. If you attempt to bond with a third weapon, you must break the bond with one of the other two.
Swords unsheathed. Green eyes glinting. Hair slipping from my bun. Sweat dripping from my forehead. Jaw clenched.
“Go at it again.”
I wasn’t young when I started to train with weapons. By human standards, I was quite middle aged, in fact, to even consider the thought.
Most of my life had been consumed with teachings of literature, finer things: how to talk, how to appease, how to gain admiration. However, I began to become bored of this repetitive, mundane sort of training. Expressing my wishes to my parents, they indeed agreed to entertain my more dangerous wishes of learning to fight like a proper warrior. Of course, then, I was both ecstatic and confused by their pliability (which was unusual of their strict nature.) Now considering all things, I believe this was due to their knowledge that I would be having plenty of time to learn both how to manage their legacy and how to fight, so order did not matter.
Nevertheless, I began my training and became skilled with dual swords as well as axes. I even took up the use of a longbow at times, when my curiosity and mentor entertained it.
My fists are white, clenching the hilt of my sword.
“I’m making a decision. For myself. I’m going to explore. I’m going to leave this country.”
She stares at me with indifferent eyes. “You do so without our wishes.”
I left my home soon afterwards. I was… rebellious, to say the least, at a young age. It couldn’t be helped, and I did so against my parents’ better judgement. That’s to say, I left with what little money I had stored up in the months before my decision, my prized swords, and a pack of food and clothing I’d packed on the spree.
I traveled very far. Unfortunately-- though I was not completely out of luck-- I ran out of money and supplies by the time I had reached a human kingdom, called High Fyrne, and I had to search for odd jobs day-to-day.
During this time, I had a brief alliance with a sorcerer named Nyall, who had short copper hair, brown eyes, and large ears. After about a year we had a child, but then one day he disappeared without a trace, with the baby. I have never seen him since.
One day, I happened to meet the Earl of a fiefdom when I killed a wolf who had been plaguing a prominent farmer in the land. Indeed, he wished to hire me, and hearing that I was trained in swordfighting, he offered me a position as the bodyguard of his daughters, though I would later discover the job seemed to entail the duties of a nanny as well.
Nevertheless, I was glad to have a semi-permanent job in the kingdom, so that I would not have to return to my parents, who still refused to communicate with me.
I stayed with the daughters as they grew, protecting them during their more rebellious phases (which entailed the older) and their precious phases (more of the younger.) Though I feel a protective bond over both, I am more endeared towards the younger, as I know the elder can mostly protect herself, and usually only needs a guiding hand.
