The Lore So Far

A higher-up in a secretive mafia, Morpheus is a man who is loyal to the family above all else. However, in that loyalty, there is room for him to keep secrets. Secrets, secrets, secrets; his mafia is full of them, so what's a few more? Specifically, Morpheus keeps the secret of his semi-friendship with Caspian under wraps. Not that his bosses need to know, of course... Morpheus is merely the guy who keeps an eye on him from time to time. Caspian is a contractor with the police; he's risky. Morpheus is what keeps him in check. Given, the way he does this is with ""friendly"" threats of ending Caspian's life. He's not exactly the most likable guy to keep around.

Cas, though he has lie detecting abilities, cannot ever tell whether or not Morpheus is telling the truth. This makes his threats all the more... well, intimidating, might be the right word. He's cruel enough to do it and Caspian knows he is. It's just the kind of guy Morpheus is.

Morpheus isn't his real name, of course. He earned it through his abilities; he's a shapeshifter. Therefore, he ... morphs. Nobody knows his real name or age and he keeps it that way.

Personality

Morpheus is a slimy conman of a character. He's unlikable, cruel, and keeps his intentions to himself. He uses people when it suits him and discards them when they become useless - even his so-called "friends." It's his lack of shame in doing so that earned him a reputation among his family's ranks to begin with.

When he's not using his shapeshifting abilities to con people out of money or other valuables, he's using them for general chaos and pranks. He finds amusement in the suffering of others and high-thrill tension is a game to him. He would put his life, and his friends' lives, in danger if it meant a cheap thrill - a dopamine hit. He usually tends to stay on the sidelines, though, making his games more interesting from a safe distance by spreading information.
