He speaks English with an exaggerated southern drawl, and is obsessed with decadent cuisine, acting as the main taste tester for his diner's chef... who happens to be his husband. (His palate is oddly refined.) A hedonistic eccentric with an emotional streak and a paradoxical focus on how he's perceived.
so you know that one archetype of villain that's like this overenthusiastic, rotund, morally bankrupt oil baron that doesn't care about anything except money, cuisine, and AMERICA? hironobu's like that, except he's actually pretty chill. he runs a fancy restaurant in japan and is, for lack of a better term, a westaboo. absolutely obsessed with the culture there, probably wears a cowboy hat, all that. an eccentric hedonist who is almost definitely just here for advertising. gay dad-uncle vibes.
