Agnize used to be a legislacerator-- though not as successful in the business as his descendant, he had often represented Lowbloods even if all the odds were stacked against them. Over time he became less in-love with his work, the unfair caste laws leaving him drained and angry. It was not until he sacrificed his own hand as paymnet for a Lowblood stealing bread that he resigned and favored the path of the Signless.
Sweeps spent studying scriptures and history, Agnize had trained to become a priest and helps to lead a secret following of the Signless including raising the Signless' prodigy descendant. Kind, patient, and understanding, he has great conviction that he is doing the right thing. However, sadness and doubts resides in him, making him question the child's involvement much to his bishop's frustration.
During his time as legislacerator, he had fallen in love with the judge Ribbon. The two are now very loving matesprits, putting aside differences and traumas to make the most of their relationship.
