Mawe is a young, large raptor born 5th generation from the experimental "Panteraptor Aureus" genus. He is well-built and carries himself on all four Limbs, much like his mother. Additionally, he has long fur-like feathers that sit neatly across his body. Color-wise, the male is a bit funny looking. His fur along his sides is snow-white while the fur along his spine sports his father's grey crest and his mother's dull yellow. Another interesting feature of this raptor is his blood-red eyes. Due to albinism, the pigments of the iris are translucent, resulting in the blood vessels behind his eyes being visible and Mawe's vision not being 20/20. In other words, he's partially blind. This leads him to rely on his hearing and smell, both of which are very sharp as a result of his feline lineage.

Personality traits and Behavior

Aloof

Being only able to see what's in front of him about half the time, Mawe is incredibly aloof and unsure. When approached by new raptors he will quickly remove himself from the situation. He is also very possessive of his space due to Pantheraptors' territorial nature. While he will not pick a specific territory, he does not enjoy unfamiliar raptors in his space and will not hesitate to act aggressively to get them away from him.

Loyal

Even though he is very Aloof, Mawe is quite loyal and affectionate to those he is close to. In his eyes, these are raptors he considers to be welcome in his territory. This also means he is very protective over them, instantly jumping to his feet whenever one of them may be in trouble.

Quiet

Mawe is not one to make much noise, he prefers to stay by himself and does not call often. Besides the occasional hiss or snap he will make no sound. The only calls he does make are calls to reply to raptors calling to him or to get the attention of a raptor he is close with. Instead, Mawe much prefers to sit and observe his packmates.

Hatred of the Sun

Since he is albino and his eyes are quite sensitive to light, Mawe despises direct sunlight. He will avoid it when he can, sitting in the shade and looking away. He prefers nighttime and dawn and dusk, pretty much any time when the sun isn't blazing down at him. When in direct sunlight he may become disoriented and close his eyes. When running with the pack he likes to stay in the middle of it so he can close his eyes and listen to the sounds of them running. He may also follow those he is close to so he does not trip and fall.

Protective

Due to an attack on him as a youngling he has become very loyal to the pack. Because of that, he will often stay very close to injured raptors in order to protect them as he feels the pack protected him.

Courting information and Offspring

Seasonal or Lifelong Courting: Mawe could go either way, while he certainly might prefer only to mate seasonally, if a raptor were to show intent and pursue a relationship for longer he would most likely happily be monogamous towards them.

Gender preference: My boys a raging bisexual.

Courting aggression: Would Mawe show courting aggression if he encountered a rival? Absolutely. As previously mentioned, Mawe is an incredibly protective raptor. If he deems a potential mate suitable enough, he would defend her or him until he dropped.

Courting tips: Mawe is extremely mistrusting of strangers, befriend him first and convince him you're worth his time. Learn his tendencies and slowly he may even start to court you.

History

Hatchling

Mawe was very spicy as a young cub, yelling at strangers, attacking his father's tail and overall being annoying. He liked to zip in and out of his mother's feet, attack her nose, and do everything she did. Come too close to the nest and get hissed at by mom? Get hissed at by a 5-pound infant too! Mom lectures dad? Guess who's standing behind her nodding. Mom talking to sister? Oh.. he fell asleep.- yeah Mawe also slept alot when he was a baby baby.

Juvenile

Mawe's juvenile days were spent roughhousing with his sisters, yelling at strangers, and discovering that is hurts to look at the sun. When Mawe stepped out of his nest, at first his mother kept them in the tree line. They feasted on ava and murdered random oros. Eventually, father wandered off to stop paying attention and the kids were left with mom. But they didn't care. They were too busy playing with Hathor. Eventually, Mawe stepped into the sun and fell back squeaking in panic, and blinking wildly. Eventually, he learned not to look up. As a result, he barely remembers the faces of the raptors who played with him and his littermate. If your raptor helped raise him, I'm sorry but it's very likely he doesn't remember them.

Subadult

As he turned into a sub-adult, Mawe learned many things. The first is just how dangerous the world is. After his first couple of nights, he felt the terror of Cerato bearing down on him as he drank. He ran panicking to a rock where he lay huddled while his packmates defended him. Because of the defense, he has sworn loyalty to Sustrai, wanting to repay them for saving his life. The second is, that while you may not trust your packmates as individuals, they will protect you. The third is, parental figures will protect their young when you try to eat said young.

Mature adult

As he grew into his maturity at two years old, he received a massive wound on his left thigh from an allo hunt at wash. Ever since he has resented Allos and acts accordingly.
