Once a troubleshooter in the emerging field of IT, Glitch received a sketchy gig from an anonymous client with a mysterious glitch in their computer. Computers were so primitive and new to equestria he didn't get much work and couldn't afford to turn it down. In attempting to resolve the glitchy computer, he was sucked in by some magic error (or a trap), converted to a glitchy digital being forever.
