Backstory:

Kozu Sasaki, a.k.a. Mr. Sasaki, is one of the staff of Avalon Academy. A rather stoic individual, he plays the roles as being the "reliable" figure amongst the students, seemingly in contrast to the eccentric Ieyasu. However, unlike the dean, he doesn't seem as interested in being closer to said students, prefering to keep some space for some reason. When he isn't assisting with the teaching, he is mostly out scouting for more students to invite to the academy. He prefers to keep an eye out for exceptionally talented individuals, sometimes done by disguising himself to get closer (he does get permission if he has to enter a school or private property). While he is put off by difficult and/or negative personalities, if he thinks their talents outweigh such issues, he views said traits as something to simply iron out in the process.

As for history, it's hard to say what Kozu was before he became well known. While he did have minor fame as a battler in the Sinnoh league and part of a family of sword practitioners, his real claim to fame is during the 6 month war in Aemtochi. Part of a group with Ieyasu to end the war, he rose to fame for his speed and ability to outwit many of his opponents. There are also rumors that he worked in secret with the Lantern Organization, though what he did exactly is even more wildly speculated, ranging from intel gathering to high profile assassination. However, his partnership with Ieyasu was very well documented, as while the Lucario was already known to be very strong, nothing seemed to be able beat the pair together. In a sense, while he might be as exasperated at the dean's behaviour as much as anyone else could be, he seems to be in no hurry to find employment elsewhere.
