-eventually dates Eli and only gets super soft and sweet for him

jules: goddamnit Kai i told you not to come back here. you still fucking owe me for those fries from last time AND the meal before that AND the-
jules: *sees eli in the bg, shy and twirling his hair at one of the booths, eli is unaware hes being watched however*
jules: *leaves the convo with kai to head to the back to the kitchen*
kai: j-jules? hey i thought we were talking!
jules: *comes back with a plate of food*
kai: oh sweet, did you change your mind abt the tab!? *kai watches him walk past* juLES?
jules: *shyly sets plate down in front of eli* This is for you. On the house.
eli: *is surprised* oh! really? well, ah, t-thank you-u-u
jules thinking to himself: 'he has a stutter? holy fuck that's adorable'
jules: right its np. tell me if you need anything else at all. and i mean anything. *he looks at him in a very obvious way that eli doesnt pick up on. Eli is too dense to realize hes being flirted with*
*Jules clears his throat and decides that he needs to immediately be bolder*
*So he asks for Eli's number, and once the other realizes he's blushing and coughs in embarrassment*
but they end up exchanging numbers later and more or less hitting it off

Eli can be himself a lot more via text, and he caught Jules by surprise a few times with his secret jokes and snark
they text a lot during the hellfire arc (as in you literally see panels of the comic where eli is on his phone texting with  a smile on his face)

also im a sucker for shy tall bottoms and confident short tops so they have that character dynamic now whenever they hook up in the timeline hfkds
