In short - inside they're mature and kind. They are wise and intelligent, and hold wisdom on a level of a great mage deep down. On the surface they're mischevious and always attempt on acting tough and villanous.

They can create arrows of mystic magic - and because they can vary in shapes and sizes, it's also possible to use them as a staff (except then it looks like an actual staff [naginata or a spear] and not just a giant arrow lol)

Their magic manifests either in green lightning and/ or mist.

Although they have the abilities to cast small spells, they prefer to avoid the bad luck always following them and their environment afterwards.

Their "special/ emergency spell", which they act pretty embarrased about, is 'Charm' (works exactly how it sounds - makes the opponent charmed, like they just saw a small kitten).
They also know 'Surprise zap' and lots of different ones.

backstory - purrresent

They come from a family of mystic mages (often specialising in dark and shady magic) and thanks to that they hold a great wisdom about human mind and spirit. Unlike the other Yokai from the underground, their lineage has some traces of the actual japanese mythical animals - a bakeneko. Dark magic always comes with a price, so most of its users just turn evil, but Berunrun has been cursed with bad luck! Though, aren't aware that their evil bakeneko nature was manifesting itself as disasters...

They studied magic from the youngest age, and their ambition about it was so big that they tried to cast big spells even without the right knowledge.
Their bad luck curse was discovered during one of these. they wanted to do something good, but ended up causing a small catastrophe and put themselves and their friend - Clover - in danger.
Their parents were shocked, because it wasn't the spell itself that caused it, rather some unknown side effects. The situations kept repeating itself, and Deadeye's kind soul was slowly starting to fill with sadness.

After gaining some bad reputation they decided to become a rouge and work from the shadows, like a lot of their ancestors - it resulted with Clover ending their friendship. In their darkest moments they decided that "If the world's only gonna see me as a troublemaker and a cause of disasters, there's no point in trying to be anything else" - their cheerful and kind personality was still present, but they were now trying to gaslight themselves that they're meant to be villainous and mischevious.

They took on a nickname 'Deadeye' to appear serious and dangerous despite bad luck following them and making them appear silly. They took on the sleath-related missions like spying, theft and smuggling - and seeing their quality in speed and commitment (it's very similar to Cassandra's) one of their employers started using them as a delievery guy, and the cat pretty much allowed to make themselves a courrier, once again turning out sillier than they intended...

They were aware of partially becoming a villain, despite it hurting inside due to their kind nature. At some point they even worked for Draxum, and again, tried convincing themselves that they're doing what's meant for them.

Unfortunately their magic having more unlucky side effects due to it being used more carelessly now, caused the people of underground to decide that Yaku's existance cursed with bad luck, and banished them for bringing danger to the city.
They now wander New York in search for something to do with themselves, still delievering and smuggling some packages for a few cents, wether it's for yokai or not. Sometimes Deadeye assists minor villains of the NYC as an extra mercenary, but outside of it, they're trying to get their life together and live more-or-less normally.

Struggling with the curse never stopped, and despite their tries to live normally, they were still claiming to have villanous intents and that it's all on purpose whenever it manifested, no matter how much it hurt inside.

backstory - curse

They knew that they had japanese yokai genes, and that this lineage is the reason their family is willing to continue their legacy as mages, monks and wizards.
But they had no idea about what it actually did biologically. Turns out that some of the individuals of their family tree, that showed extraordinary wisdom and power later in their life, have gone through a certain... transformation.

They all had genes of a bakeneko - a japanese cat yokai. Bakeneko's legacy had lots of spiritual power, which was hard to control - especially because it was a power evil by nature, that belonged to trickster creatures.

Berunrun, a creature good at heart, never showed their evil spiritual nature by their personality, so it just manifested to something of a bad luck curse, because it couldn't just be contained inside.

Those transformations of their family members was just them turning into nekomatas - an older, more powerful and wiser, but also way more evil forms of bakeneko yokai. It's something they had to experience on their own skin to find out... [more in tab]

• His mom was a witch and his father a dark magician!

• He has sister, each of them tries to act like the other doesn't exist.

• They like to sing n can even rap, and have a lowly singing voice :3 Clover taught Berunrun how to sing, and Berunrun showed Clover his mom's magic, which interested Clover in witchcraft.
They sing very rarely, though. (a reference to cats turning opera singers when they're bored). Their favorite song is Wild side from Beastars

• Because of their delievery jobs, they delievered pizza a few times, and because the mad dogs saw them connit shenanigans only in "rouge mode" thy didn't recognise them lol
