Cyrus Marisol

Cyrus had a normal childhood, all things considered. He was a far cry from his current self. His time was spent playing video games, hanging out with friends, and looking after his little sister Melody.

It was a snowy winter night, when Cyrus was walking home with Melody after her ballet class. Their parents were out for dinner with friends, and would probably be back before the two got home. The lights were still off, but the thing that set Cyrus off was the lack of light from the TV, the car in the driveway, and the door being unlocked. Cyrus told Melody to wait outside until he knew everything was alright, and run if anything were to happen.

The details of that night are foggy. Cyrus still refuses to talk about it to this day. Police found their parents dead in the kitchen, bodies corroded to bone in places and surrounded by a dried, black tar. Cyrus laid unconscious on the side, scarred but alive.

That day changed him, for the better or for the worse. Cyrus had been 18 for a couple of months already, so he went off to live on his own in the small, nowhere town of Dis.

He often goes out at night, weapon in hand, coming back looking disheveled and sometimes injured. He refuses to get help, despite protests, tending to his wounds in the comfort of his own home. One could only wonder what drives him to do this, given his history.

It's only when a bright-eyed journalist butts into his life that his facade starts to crack.
