Species

A fleet-footed and sticky-fingered girl with a sweet tooth to rival all others. Enthusiastic in all endeavors, but the excitable front she puts on can be somewhat deceiving.

She's not as innocent as she seems. Usually.

Personality
even if I have to fight

Coco comes across as sugary as her favorite treats. She's excitable, bubbly, and might even seem a little bit naive. The truth is a bit more complex: although her general cheer is sincere enough, it covers hard lessons from a hard life.

Coco is slow to trust, slow to obey, and slow to relax. Any situation is reason to be on guard; anyone could turn their back on you at a moment's notice. When she doesn't get her way, she can get sulky and ill-tempered; when she feels threatened, she's quick to draw her weapon, lest she be caught unawares.

Once you get past those initial hurdles, her loyalty is as steadfast as it comes.

Background
I know stories change their faces

Early Life

Born to a conniving tiefling father and a peddling himmeling mother, Coco was a surprise to just about everyone. It wasn't that her parents didn't love her. It's just they had a lot else on their plate. They taught her from a young age the art of pickpocketing and false promises, but their own misdeeds proved too swift. In the hopes of protecting her, they placed her in the care of a family friend and skipped town, promising to come back for her.

Coco learned early that promises were cheap.

Under the watchful eye of Julien, Coco refined her technique. Together, the two of them joined a notorious young gang of thieves. This became their new home; life wasn't easy, but they all took care of one another. Wasn't that what family was really about?

As they grew, Julien eventually rose to become leader. As excited for him as she was, Coco couldn't help but notice the change in her old friend: rules became stricter, punishments more severe, costs higher. After what felt like one cross too many, Coco challenged him, hoping to strike some reason back into him. Instead of negotiation, she was given a duel and a reminder: loyalty doesn't pay.

Maybe families just weren't built to last.

Present

Despite everything, Coco picked herself back up again. If nothing else, she was taught how to survive: how to steal to get what she needed, or maybe just wanted. How to attract and misdirect attention. How to play dirty.

So she did. Unapologetically alone.

That is, until someone managed to convince her that maybe... third time's the charm, after all.

Relationships
but I swear I am not afraid!

father

Jett is silly. Sometimes they argue, or disagree, and they didn't exactly get off on the right foot—but Coco can't help but love him anyway. He also makes her laugh, and includes her, and gives her somewhere to call home. Plus, being his assistant is the most fun she's ever had.

friend

Dottie and Coco are opposites in basically every way. Maybe that's why Coco finds her so interesting; she's never known someone with such a radically different worldview. Maybe they can learn from each other, bit by bit.
