aokasa

dragonborn ranger who grew up on a farm in a small village. compassionate and empathetic towards animals but aloof and reserved with people.

when the townsfolk wanted to hunt down a wolf that was spotted attacking livestock, she took it upon herself to get to the wolf first, naively hoping she could relocate it somewhere safe without the townspeople finding out what she had done. however, the wolf attacked her when she unwittingly stumbled upon its den. she killed it entirely on accident after it impaled itself on her pitchfork, only to find out that the wolf was simply defending its pups, which it had been hunting livestock to provide for. fearing repercussions from her village if she took the wolf pups in but also not wanting to kill them herself, aokasa left them behind; later, it becomes one of her greatest regrets after killing their mother.

aokasa was praised by the village for ridding them of the wolf, but she felt guilty and ashamed of what she had done. she retreated to live alone in a cottage on the very edge of town, where she had very few visitors and lead a simple life tending to her sheep. she was known to frequently take long trips for supplies and other goods, but one day she left and never returned, having gone on a quest to seek redemption for her actions.

has a cloak of flying which turns into a pair of wings. it appears as a scarf when not in use. she has piebald markings which gives her heterochromia. her pitchfork uses the stats and mechanics of the standard 5e trident weapon. her broken horn is the result of an attack on her village by raiders when she was very young, which contributes to her quiet and introverted nature.
