Nano

About

Cocky, cool, and contrarian, attempting to get along with Nano will be somewhat of a nightmare! Nano is slow to trust, and is willing to do whatever it takes to stay alive in the tumultuous landscape that is post-apocalyptic North America. Though her prickly exterior and childish overconfidence may turn off most self-respecting objects, bzz is loyal to the core, and would do anything to protect and aid those she considers her friends.

Design

Appearance

Nano is a Hexbug Nano. She has 6 limbs attached the sides of the plastic casing of her body, and two antennae attached to the top. Bzz's legs are attached to the underside of the case, while her lower and upper arms are placed around her sides. Both her limbs and her antennae are a bright orange. The darker casing outside is a dark red-brown, and the plastic screen is a desaturated red-pink. Her face, displayed on the front of the screen, glow yellow, and are always active. The switch on her stomach is usually switched to the left side, in the off position.

When drawing bzz in more detail, the only significant changes are how much more realistic her cockroach limbs and antennae are. Nano's hands end in clawed fingers.

On her back, Nano's patterns default to the arrangement above. 

Notes

• Nano can display images on her screen, and change the light patterns on her back. However, this takes a lot of energy, and she rarely does this.
• Drawing the screw is optional
• Nano's top right arm has been severed halfway between the top two segments. 
• Nano cannot change her screen and light color like most hexbugs can.

Background

The Chihuahuan desert is unforgiving, even during the midst of a nuclear winter. Though the ever present cold is not as devastating, the common occurrence of frequent sandstorms and absolute lack of water still prevents most objects from settling in this area. But it was here that Nano lived for most of her life outside of the colony, surviving day to day within a nomadic group of objects in similar circumstances.

Six years of travel throughout the US midwest have brought her to Oregon to compete for a safe haven.
