Brief Summary

Kytes are, for lack of a better understanding, one of Vast's many enigmatic creatures to have spawned since the departure of the First Dragon centuries and centuries ago. Discovered less than 50 turns ago by the VU, the lone tribe of Kytes live at the very peak of the tallest mountain on Vast known more officially as Sky Point. While Sky Point is not very far from where some of the most organized tribes have come together with common goals as well as broad, intelligent minds, the Kytes have only just recently been discovered due to the nature of the mountain's peak. It is so, ridiculously tall that most Vastrians cannot reach it without passing out. Not only is the air extremely thin, but the flame within seems to weaken the closer winged draconids get to the upper atmospheres. So imagine the VU's surprise when a visitor arrives from the peak that they've never seen the likes of before. Para'vayn is that Kyte, and they are one of the more exotic and quixotic ambassadors at the guild.

Personality

Para'vayn is odd enough for a Kyte. The fact that they ever came down from the peaks where their flock dwells has marked them as the oddest one yet.

To the guild, and certainly to the rest of the those that happen to meet them, they are something else. This cheerful individual came to the VU whistling in their songspeech about extending greetings and being thrilled to make their acquaintance. This one is a gem. Para'vayn is highly intelligent, patient, optimistic, and social. They are not only the ONE Kyte that everybody knows because the others don't bother ever coming down, but they are also capable of engaging in conversation through careful controlling of their various notes, all of which can even be breathed out simultaneously. Their 'speech' sounds like song, and their native language is completely whistled out in tunes that show a massive berth of emotion. To them the common tongue is bland and devoid of feeling, an unseasoned lump of ground beef as opposed to a delicious burger or a gourmet lasagna. They have a lot of trouble being able to tell when other Vastrians are in any sort of mood, assuming they are either always grumpy or always fine. Even screams are confusing to them, as they sound more like a certain word or phrase in Kyte than they do as exclamations of terror.

The language barrier gets in the way every now and then, mostly due to a lack of proper emotional interpretation. Para'vayn has definitely improved since they were accepted and unofficially appointed as the VU Kyte Ambassador. They excel at conflict resolution and well, any matter that can be solved through the power of song. They have a deep love for music, especially this foreign stuff their tribe has been missing out on all these years. They also like the taste of the food down here, as well as the look of things in general. Kytes are such delicate draconids that they wouldn't dare stay at the base of the mountain for long, but Para'vayn rather likes the idea of taking risks and daring to see more. It's all worth it in the end to be well educated.

Speaking of education, one of Para'vayn's duties seem to be of keeping historians at the VU informed and educated on Kyte culture, as well as those they play a host to on their various missions. They have no qualms with this at all. When they came from, stories like these could go for a mile. The historians are especially interested in how the Kytes not only survive and thrive at those altitudes, but where they connect to the First Dragon. As the only tribe capable of sustaining themselves at such a height, they are curious to know what sets them apart genetically and historically from others. Para'vayn is happy to share, though they have a hard time conveying information on history. Much of what the Kytes share is lore and myth, so none of it really lines up to actual historical events. Still, they do try to help the historians break it down as much as possible when they have the chance.
