Usually perceived as a flashy, eccentric individual, Orion rarely ever blended into the crowd. He didn't really saw the point in following trends that he wasn't interested in, just for the sake of looking hip and cool. He was comfortable and fine with who he is, and if people didn't like him, that's okay too. Everyone has people that rub them the wrong way, it's just a matter of how you deal with them to avoid unnecessary conflict.
He is often seen as a carefree person who just does whatever he wants and speaks his mind, never thinking about what consequences it may arise. However, some fellow academics find it troublesome to deal with him, as this insensitive attitude of his can sometimes accidentally offend people. Some even see Orion as childish due to this, and even though he tries to deny it, his affinity for cute things did not help detaching that image from people’s impression of him.
Due to his bubbly and excitable personality, Orion is someone that people love having around for comedic relief, or just for an atmosphere change, generally speaking. When it's getting moody, Orion tries his best to bring the positive vibes in, even if it meant that he'd look like an idiot doing it - e.g. singing, or (badly) break dancing in the middle of the room. Everything happens for a reason, and for Orion, sometimes it's just better (and easier) to change your perspective and stay optimistic, rather than trying to change something that's already in the past.
As an academic, Orion also has a stubborn and reckless side to him. He is very confident in his research, sometimes using the most unexpected methods to study the most bizarre niches of his field. He does not take opposing opinions well, especially when you don't have the evidence to back it up. He'd be open to listening to your opinion, but he'd still lean heavily towards his own. Only if you are of some authoritative figure, or someone that he trusts/respects, he'd back down and consider your comments seriously.
