Far from it's kin, it's been an eon since they've first traveled the cosmos. Nearly getting caught in a black hole, it was thrown into a certain star system and swung around a fairly young star and crashed landed on a planet with unique flora... Earth. It lost most of it's memories, like their early journey and how it came here, but it can still recall exploring what's out there. As it try to recover, it came to appreciate the local wildlife and flora that this planet has to offer.
For now it resides here, learning to be apart of humans (or furries in some AU) intricate cultures. It's hard, no doubt, but it's taking little steps to appreciate the smaller things this world has to offer. But deep down, it knows it still yearns for the stars beyond the Earth's night sky. Perhaps someday it can return from once it came....
Kepler is a curious being who has an interest of learning new things, whether it be cuisine, fashion or even new skills and fauna. They're more interested in the visual appeal of things such as nature or art that locals can create. They try to be cautious but much like a bird attracted to shiny things, they often get distracted and look at the little mundane things.
It's also really interested with earthling's infatuation with aliens; how some are eager to meet extraterrestrial life or fear a potential invasion. They understand their reactions to such and take it with a grain of salt. Occasionally though, they like to ride on the "alien invader" idea and scare some of the locals-- though it's never out of malice.
It has a lot of trouble understanding the local society and social cues. Despite this, they're pretty social but there's times where even they can't interact. It often spends time with itself at night, stargazing. It tends to act a little cryptic and takes pride of being an alien. It may do alien jokes like invasions or whatever but its never out of malice. They don't even know why there here half of the time.
- The bright colored feathers changes hues dependant on the enviroment, but purple or teal is the default.
- Red feathers correspond to hot enviroments like the tropics or the desertt
- Golden feathers correspond to extremely hot enviroments i.e. volcanic or even star-like enviroments
- Teal feathers correspond to colder enviroments
- Purple feathers correspond to temperate enviroments
- Has a bit of trouble flying in earth's atmosphere. Their wings are built for gliding in this atmosphere but can provide and extremely powerful wing beat.
- Flies using not just their back wings but the feathers on their arm, akin to speculated microraptor flight, they twist their arms to turn, like rudders.
- Can rotate it's head much like an owl as well as moving their head much like the avian fauna on earth.
- Often grabs things with their feet or with the claws on it's wings.
