Violaceous

Violaceous is a dragon in human form who works as royal advisor to the king of a relatively prosperous country. He’s worked for the royal family for generations. He likes fancy robes and jewelry, and his hoard after so many centuries may even rival the wealth of the treasury in silk and gemstones. A long time ago, when the king at the time was not a good man, he found out that Violaceous is a dragon and cursed him to be bound to the family if he told anyone what the man was doing. As he was planning to stay for a while, he revealed the king’s wrongdoings, and didn't mind the binding. However, every once in a while, a dragon like him has to return to his homeland and replenish his life energy, and now, this time to go back home is fast approaching him.

His homeland is a place called the Cauldrons- a massive, impassable mountain range situated over a series of great rifts that pour magical energy out into the world around it. Hostile, hazardous, and almost impossible to traverse for anyone but its natives, its strong magical currents and free energy are the basis of almost all life in the area,  including the dragons.
