After the dissolution of her original court in a gigantic meteor shower that battered her planet after a nearby supernova, she was forced to start rebuilding. Rubberhose Diamond herself was damaged, getting badly cracked in the process.
Emotionally, she's surprisingly fragile for a Diamond. She'll often speak openly if asked how she's feeling, even wheeping in front of lesser Gems. Vampire Pearl, her personal Pearl, can most often be found at Rubberhose's side, comforting her when she grieves her old court, or singing for her. They're in love.
