Aro

Much of Aro’s origins are unknown. Found hiding in the woods roughly half a mile from the smoldering remains of a raided encampment, it’s speculated that he’d either been purposely hidden or run off on his own when fae hunters descended during the night. He’d have likely died in those woods if not for Adrien Wolffe. In extending a hand to the frightened child, Adrien changed both of their lives. Given both a home and a family, Aro grew up loved and cherished, his life was by all accounts idyllic, with the worst thing he ever had to deal with being his chronic migraines .

It wasn’t until the last year of his schooling that things changed. When his group of friends went missing, boyfriend included, Aro developed a deep seated anxiety, followed by a depression when only one of his friends was found dead, lands away. His family supported him as best they could, going so far as to gift him a dog in hopes it would offer him some comfort. However, Aro found himself in further distress when he began developing romantic feelings for Soren, Adrien’s biological son. Soren conveniently moved out of the family home around the same time, but Aro felt a deep shame and found it difficult to face his family while he felt this way.

It was then he decided to move to the nearby Queendom, claiming he wanted to see a bit of the world and gain some perspective after the loss of his friends. In reality, he was running from his feelings and while he still wrote home after the move, he found the guilt keeping him at a particular emotional distance, afraid letting his family in would reveal his shame. The guilt and distance only grew with grief when news of Soren’s death reached him. Letters home have become less frequent, as have the letters to him. Still, he thinks of his family often and misses them terribly.

Aro currently spends his days pouring himself into his work and trying to live a relatively happy life. He’s even found himself a lover! Noel is not always kind but Aro insists that it’s okay. He doesn't believe others when they say he deserves better, as they don't know all that he has to repent for
