THE BASICS: Bee is Dude's girlfriend!!❤️

NAME: Bee 😀

AGE: 21

PERSONALITY TYPE: (Enneagram) Type 6-The loyalist

Bee is a friendly person. She’s reliable, hard-working, and trustworthy.

She’s also a “troubleshooter”, and tends to foresee problems that will come around from the decisions she makes. However, she will ignore the potential of future problems if it’s something she really wants to do.

When stressed, Bee can become competitive, arrogant, defensive, evasive, and anxious. She has a habit of running on empty, complaining about it, and not doing anything to change the situation. She can also be reactive, defiant and rebellious when put on the spot, or pushed into a corner.

Most of the time she’s relaxed and optimistic, a stable and self-reliant person. And supportive to a fault.

She wants to have security, to feel supported by others, to have reassurance. She doesn’t always get this from the people around her, especially her family.

DISTINCTIVE SKILLS/ABILITIES: Bee can cook amazing food, but bakes terribly. She has a sixth sense for finding good items in op shops, and haggles disturbingly well.

INTERNAL:

WHAT IS THEIR GREATEST FEAR?

Bee is afraid of being alone.

All her life has been about community, whether sibling, cousin, father, mother, friend, or enemy.

Even at her most exhausted—when she feels that all she is born to do is wear her fingers down to nubs in service of caring for others—she prefers that to being truly alone (she’d be a great elderly care worker).

Naturally, she’s afraid of wide open spaces, lonely places, and flying. She doesn’t look up at the sky too much because it tugs at the inside of her chest.

Bee feels a feverish ownership over the people she loves. It’s the kind of love that she tends to subdue for the good of both parties. It drives her crazy sometimes. She’s willing to do a lot for her loved ones, and it almost scares her to think about.

WHAT DO THEY LOOK DOWN ON OTHER PEOPLE FOR? She looks down on people who are cruel to others. People who are prickly without reason, who make no effort to let others feel included. Bullies, whether adult or child, irritate her to no end.

WHAT MAKES THEM FEEL LOVED? When others make an effort to make things easier for her, or to brighten up her day.

TOP THREE THINGS THEY VALUE MOST IN LIFE? Family. Love. Happiness.

EXTERNAL:

WHAT’S THEIR FAVOURITE BOOK/MOVIE/BAND? Bee likes obscure foreign films, the kind that only play in mom and pop theatres for a week, or that get banned due to ‘religious degeneracy’ before they’re translated. Lately, she’s had a fondness for soviet anti-war films. She likes Andrei Tarkovsky especially. Her favourite is Ivan's Childhood, and before that it was Come and See , and before THAT it was Possession. It’s unknown how she gets these movies, but she has her ways.

IS THERE AN OBJECT THEY CAN’T BEAR TO PART WITH AND WHY? Her VHS collection. She’s been collecting since she was a teen, has spent probably way too much money on it, but she can’t bring herself to stop.

WHAT NICKNAMES HAVE THEY HAD THOROUGH THEIR LIFE? Bee is already a nickname, although it’s the only thing on her birth certificate. Like naming a baby ‘Bill’ instead of ‘William’. Her parents had always been kind of ditzy, so they can’t remember what Bee was ever short for. They call her ‘honey bug’ sometimes. Dude calls her ‘BiBi’ most often, though he has other nicknames for her.

WHAT IS THEIR METHOD OF MANIPULATION? Lying. Bee can lie pretty well, because she’s so often trustworthy. If you ask her to do something, she’ll say yes with a straight face and then proceed to do the opposite. This has gotten her into a bit of trouble, considering that she’s accepted a huge payout to break up with a guy she’s still dating (Dude).

WHAT’S THEIR GO-TO CURE FOR A BAD DAY? Watching a movie, reading a book, spending time with people.

CHARACTER GOALS:

HOW ARE SHE DISSATISFIED WITH HER LIFE? Technically she’s in debt to her boyfriend's parents. She would very much prefer not to be. She also feels like Dude’s parents will find out about their relationship at any point and she might be in big trouble.

WHAT DOES SHE THINK WILL BRING HER TRUE HAPPINESS? She would like to move out of her family home and go to university, but feels too anxious to start without a plan.

WHAT DEFINITIVE STEP COULD SHE TAKE TO TURN HER DREAM INTO REALITY? Save enough money to pay off Dude’s parents, so they have nothing to hold over her if they decide to go further in the relationship. Then start classes at a community college.
Bee could imagine it. Dude and his parents gathered in their vast kitchen, pale sunlight lancing through the tall blue-rimmed windows, searing across the wax-suffused carrara marble and across the wooden legs of their high-end, high-cost counter stools—across the nest of brown hair already shorn by once fresh scissors, the whole room over-clean and iodine scented like a hospital.

Dude’s mother, tall and pinched with her hummingbird mouth, and the tendons in her neck taut like bow strings. Mother stood behind son with electric clippers—plugged in by the stove and chattering like a wasp's nest—shearing long vertical tracks along his skull like a combine harvester. And father in the archway with his arms crossed, and Dude on his stool with his head hung low and the long line of his back, bent and exhausted, sitting quiet while the last of his hair feathered down his shoulders, wordless and worn down as a de-toothed dog, eyes raw, hands clasped so tight his knuckles pearled.
