Peony is a very quiet sort of woman, always unintentionally in the shadows. This doesn't mean she's weak or submissive though - quite the contrary. When she has something to say she will speak her mind. Her mind is exceptionally busy. She has many thoughts all the time and there's just so many to sort through, so most of them don't get vocalized. Peony is also prone to moments of drama and extravagance that surprise those who don't know her.
When it comes to problems, Peony is the woman you go to to solve them. She's brilliant at seeing all sides of a problem and picking apart the pieces to find the best way to fix it. Many come to her for help, and she's usually willing to oblige. If Peony doesn't want to or isn't able to, she will let you know. She doesn't tolerate nonsense in the slightest.
Presently, Peony does a lot of concept art for an indie video game company. She finds it quite fun to sketch out a variety of ideas for others to pick from. It's also a really nice way to put down all those thoughts swirling in her head. Peony used to be a drag queen when she was younger. It was a way for her to explore her confusing gender in a way that would also bring in income and make her some friends who also had confusing genders.
Incidentally, the drag scene was also where Peony met her wife, Aster. Aster was (and still is) a drag king known as Starboy. The two became friends right away, even if neither had yet realized they were a) lesbians and b) in love. They loved to perform together - they even had an act together that made a mockery of traditional gender roles.
In fact, Peony and Aster were such good friends that when both of their parents were pressuring them to get married they married each other, although they didn't love each other yet. They messed around a bit, sure, and had a kid by accident, but they didn't fall in love until they realized they were lesbians individually and talked it out. After that, Peony spent some time figuring out how she wanted to be her gender. She did end up giving up drag as she didn't feel suited for it anymore, but she still supports Aster in all her endeavors.
Even though they weren't in love when they first got married, Aster and Peony are totally in love now. Peony supports Aster in all her endeavors, and Aster does the same. Peony can't help but adore her. Aster is just so wonderful after all!
Peony and Rosemary are very close. Peony is the chill mom, the fun mom who let's Rosemary do her own thing without getting overly involved. The two like to go on outings together and have a lot of fun.
Peony likes to use Willy's stories as concept ideas for the video games she does art for. He has so many tall tales that give her so many ideas! Peony can't help but listen to all of his stories, no matter how true they might be.
Peony likes to stop by Fletcher's shop often, both for flowers and for conversation. The two have a lot of things in common, including many inside jokes and shared experiences. Incidentally, Peony and Fletcher have been friends for a very long time, ever since childhood in fact.
Avalon and Peony met when Avalon was Rosemary’s teacher. After Rosemary moved onto another class, Peony decided she’d befriend Avalon. Nowadays the two go out for coffee and chats every two weeks or so. Peony enjoys Avalon’s company quite a lot.
