A big desert, a huge part of the region isn't inhabited. 

The population is almost all within the Capital, a kingdom ruled by their king. 

The ones who disagree with the royalty just go away usually in the Astral Cave. 

The Goddess here is Deserta. Her shrine is located behind the city under a coconut tree. See Here
