I saw it on a stormy night
When lightning struck the sea,
The waves crushed on the sand with might,
the wind howled endlessly.
I stood upon the midnight shore
The rain cold on my face,
The echo of the oceans roar
A haunting sound embrace.
Then with the lightning flash I saw
A creature through the mist,
It’s slender neck rose with the roar
Of lightning, and it hissed.
Its oval head with glowing eyes
A moment caught in light,
A creature found in myths and lies
I saw within that night.
Then with that moment it was gone
Yet in my memory,
I see it in the lightning’s sun
A serpent in the sea.
Said to have been birthed by the sea itself, K'issuk Rán is one of the eldest of beasts. She roams the depths of the ocean, far beyond what any man or creature has dared venture. She resides within the deepest of trenches, guarding the sea as a whole. Sightings of this dragon deity are uncommon, but it has been passed down by sailors that, upon offering the ocean a gift before setting sail, K'issuk Rán will ensure them safe voyage.

An old dragon, K'issuk Rán has been known to roam the ocean for thousands of years. Legend has it that she came into existence alongside the sea itself, long before any living creature drew breath. Adored by sailors and coastal communities, they've raised temples and shrines in her honor along the shores.
Those who offer gifts to the ocean are said to earn her protection, ensuring a safe journey on the waves. However, in equal measure, those who exploit the sea's power have embarked on voyages from which they never return, lost to the depths for their disrespect.

Yet there are accounts of those who, lost in the night's embrace, have been fortunate enough to witness the dragon rising from the ocean's depths. In their direst moments, she emerges as a guiding light, leading them to safety before vanishing once more.
There is an old story that, if music is played and one listens closely, they may hear the eerie melodic wail emitted by the dragon hoping to join in. The sound of such a noise is said to bestow good luck and fortune.
