Artemis - Matreats

Artemis is the goddess of the moon, the night sky, and the hunt. She is the creator of constellations, herder of the moon, and the rush of the hunt.

Artemis is normally distant, calm, and collected. She observes the world from the sky. When a monster or creature of chaos does begin to mess with the order of the universe, she will call upon her Hunt and they will hunt the being down, before taking her prize to form a new constellation in the sky.

Artemis' Avatars join her enternal Hunt, where they hunt monsters or the denzins of chaos that try to disrupt the world. All her Avatars are also female, as she shuns most men. Their weapons are knives, bow and arrows, spears, and swords. Some members of the Hunt have specialized weapons from their mortal life. Artemis' Hunt also has mounts, which are horses called Nightmares. These horses are all female (mares) who are pitch black with a shadowy mane and tail as well as glowing eyes. Any not of the Hunt who try and ride one will be cursed eternally with horrific nightmares. There are also shadow hounds that help the Hunt track their prey. They are lean, their form always twisting with shadows. Their eyes and teeth glow white.

Artemis' domain is the night sky. The greatest creatures that she has hunted are immortalized as moving stars within her realm.

Artemis' younger sibling, Astraea, is the goddess of dreams, daydreaming, psychedelics and stargazing. They share one of the same parents. They get along well, though Artemis sometimes grows tired of Astraea's excitable nature and daydreaming ways. Artemis only can handle her in small doses but will leap to defend Astraea if she is threatened.
