The Demon of Liquid Fire. Zarath makes his home in active volcanoes, living in caves made inside the calderra, making entry by mortals nearly impossible. His lair runs deep, to the cooler parts of the rock, where he hoards offerings.
Despite his questionable choice of living space, Zarath is fairly approachable, answering calls to summon him readily and willingly, and often venturing into towns and citites nearby.
Brother of Kavahr.

Summary
Zarath, unlike his brother Kavahr, prefers company. He oftens spends him time in towns and cities in a human guise, mingling with townsfolk. He answers summoning calls willingly and eagerly, and those his prices are steep, Zarath is materialistic and eager for offerings, so he'll do anything he seems as worth of him and the reward offered. He's been known to be a voracious haggler. He's not picky about what he gets - money, trinkets, a night of passion, he only seeks to be given things of worth by those who give them. A high value is simply a nice bonus.
In his own domain, he demands sacrifice to keep the volcano in which he lives appeased to prevent eruptions. Similarly to his bargains, he's not picky about what he's given. Truthfully, he has no control over the volcano whatsoever, it's just a convinient reason to extort the people around him. When it erupts, he uses it as a reason to be given more to prevent such things from happening in the future.
The fact that people consistently move back within range of the volcanoes amuses him greatly.
Occasionally, Zarath is haunted with memories of a past as a human. He sees brief glimpses of a life with a family, friends, wealth, and status. It feels ideal, and though for nearly thirty years he's ignored them sucessfully, over time they've started to scrape at his conscience and he feels more and more that he should follow the lead of the dreams and discover what kind of life he had before he became a demon. He's not sure where to start or how, but if he had a life before this, he deserves to know what it was like, and what he lost.
Design
• His black mane covers nearly his entire back.
• Fire erupts from his mouth and the ends of his horns alight when enraged.
• When exhausted or too cold, the glow of his mouth, feet, hands, and between belly scales dims to an obsidian-like black.
Trivia
• His voice sounds like Patrick Page, specifically from Hadestown.
• Zarath is incredibly hot - the air distorts with heat waves around him normally. He can choose to cool himself down, which dims his inner glow.
• Often feuding with dragons, who seek to live in similar places and extort the same people, he's gotten very good at killing them. If he seeks to barter, his most common items to exchange are dragon parts.
• Has a human guise for when he visits town, but he tries to keep people unaware of whoa nd what he truly is when disgused.
• While his own body heat cancels out moderate chill, extremely cold enviroments will make him 'freeze' as his body cools and seize up, unable to move, like rapidly cooled lava.
