They'd held their hands as the hooks sank down; they returned home with the sun setting on their smiling lips, warm enough to taste. // Beneath the waves, hooks pierced white flesh. The creature could only sing in response; it touched the hearts with its fingertips and trilled as its face touched its sisters' sides."
