Jolley is a Socking that thought he found his ideal sock right around Christmastime, donning the garish red-and-green argyle and prancing around with it all winter...and then the snow melted, and suddenly his festive look wasn't so festive anymore. He wandered around for a while, sticking out like an old decoration everywhere he went, until a chance meeting behind a thrift store with a new sock renewed his purpose and his look. Starry argyle is not much less garish, but it's definitely less festive, making it much more suitable for all-seasons wear.
He still keeps the more red and green sock lying around in some secret den of his, however, just waiting for next Christmas when he can get all festive again.
