Phen Ettore

Phen was who Porter was before his death. But unlike the other jiangshi that Shidao had brought back to life, Phen actively resisted returning to the living when he was called back. Since the Devil was absent, nobody could really do anything about it.
And so he resides in Hell of his own volition. He is disgruntled every time Youpi comes by and started blabbering on about some Porter guy.
Phen is extremely stoic and and pessimistic, having little faith in himself. He prefers to be alone and spend his time asleep, having little desire for life.

Phen grew up as a latchkey kid and a poor student; he’d often skip classes as he found the whole affair dull. Instead, he’d spend his time exploring places he shouldn’t be (i.e. abandoned buildings and shady streets) to get a sense of adventure. Never one to be particularly social, he spent most of his time on his own, only having himself to rely on.
During highschool, he joined the boxing club to train himself in some form of self-defence; just in case he got into any unsavoury situations, or to scare anyone away before it even got to that point. He dropped out of school after being scouted by someone who offered him money to join an underground fighting ring. The offer was tempting as he thought to use the money for travel, but instead he found himself caged with a contract that left him tied up to the underground. Falling into depression, he drank at various joints to kill both the time and the pain. It was one night he had gotten particularly drunk at Tom’s bar that he was killed by LTM members.

Eventually with Youpi's constant presence, he begins to feel things again and falls for her. After a contract with Wildcard, he even becomes a demon and Youpi's knight - able to appear on the surface for a short amount of time, at the cost of Youpi being unable to visit hell for 100x that time. His hobby of exploring also reignites, so he travels through Hell documenting his discoveries. On his travels he befriends Styx, a hellhound.

• When he arrived at Hell, he experienced withdrawal symptoms, but he’s sober now.
