Profile

Mathias is a devout moon worshiper. Praising and admiring both of his ever shining deity. He’s quite tall and strong for a male, however he’s quite kind and isn’t particularly violent. He has a soft kind of kindness to him and a gentle hand. Always willing to help and offer a smile to those who need one. Worshiper he may be, but he was never cruel. Always calm and kind, and holding an almost kind pupishness to him. He did not believe in sacrifices or cruelty. Regardless of pelt or appearance, all were born for a reason. The great moon has gifted life, and he was sure none of them were simply to be sacrificed… It was something foolish to him. To give a soul only for them to return it right away… no, all life was made to live. The Moon always gives life for a reason.

That rang true when his bondmate was with pup. The large male eager and excited for the coming pup. She was a bit more strict than he was. But she was good, and he loved her very dearly. Pulling her to him and singing his praises to the moon as they danced together. The female who was nearly as tall as he was laughing joyously. His pups birth was a shocking one. Pacing outside of the hut, his mate insistent that he not be present as she birthed. But unable to resist when his mate gave a sound of shock, rushing inside and taking his place at her shoulder. Looking down in worry to see what distressed her so. He was shocked to find a small bundle of fur that was as pitch black as the night. Not a single piece of fur held colour.

His mate took him as a curse. Wanting to dispose of the small pup at once. No good could come from such a pup at all! Appalled by his mates’ words, he refused. “The moon has a purpose for all, my love... Even for him.” He promised, running a gentle finger along pitch black mane in affection. “He is a curse.” She insisted, looking to her mate stubbornly. “Then I will love him none the less, my love.” He promised her, placing a gentle hand on her light blue fur. “Give him a chance, love.” He pleaded. Finally convincing her to keep the small thing. And love his odd little pup he did. Even young he was born quite big for a pup. And most certaitainly for a male. He knew he himself was tall for one… but this small one… he never seemed to stop growing. He was pleased as well when his sweet son had also begun to sprout horns, beautiful and smooth and curved. Just like his parents… he would grow strong, and tall. He could not help but feel proud of his son. Even if others were wary of him… Even if his mate never could quite bring herself to open up to the pup.

IT was with outrage that she had come to him one day. Speaking of the atrocity and blasphemy their son had committed. How dare he ask about there being a deity other than the moon! She had told him! She had told him he was a curse! She had told him he should have been abandoned the moment he was born! And yet now here he was, disrespecting the moon! Mathias had tensed at her rambling, putting a hand to her arm to silence her, noticing the wide eyes of their son on them as they spoke. “You go too far, Love.” He told her quietly, moving past her and taking up his son into his arms to speak to him on their own, holding his poor dark pelted son close to his chest and rocking him. Talking with him quietly. His sons words foreign… and yet it gave him much to think on… a god of darkness….

Ever since that day, his mate had become even colder towards their son, and it only saddened him to know there was such a chasm between his family that he could not seem to fix no matter how he tried to do so. She chided the poor creature whenever he did anything remotely wrong, and that in turn only seemed to make him sadder. He wished he could say it was a shock when his son finally snapped... but in the end, he really couldn't. He was treated too cruelly, ignored too much... too much blood had been spilled, including his mates. Rushing to her side as her throat was slashed by their son, looking to him in shock. For a moment, he thought he would harm him too... But he just turned away and disappeared into the shadows.

He stayed at his wife's side when she didn't pass from her injuries. Staying by her side... but as she healed. He realized how much she had changed. How angry she was and how much she wanted revenge. Even towards him she was angry, blaming him for not letting her kill their son the day he was born... In the end, he couldn't do anything to ease her anger, or her hatred. The made he had once loved gone into madness mixed with her devotion.  He too, ended up leaving. Heart breaking at the loss of a mate he had loved so much, knowing she would never come back to him. Too trapped within her anger and hate. She drowning, and would allow no one help her. He could not bare to stand there and watch as all she was disappeared under all that... Darkness... maybe his son was right. Maybe the moon was not all there is... he could never be sure. But he would find out.
