Physical Appearance: A thin yet well build individual. Akira is a very rugged looking person who often sports various cuts, scrapes, and bruises from their travels. They're also usually somewhat dusty or dirty, depending on where they've been exploring.

Clothing: Unless working or in costume Akira tends to wear more utilitarian based clothing. Hiking gear most commonly. They don't really have a concept of "casual wear". They also, ALWAYS, have an almost comically large backpack with them. Not always worn, but it's always nearby. Just in case

Expressions: Happy, goofy

Personality

Likes: Animals, biology, ecology, adventure, mischief

Dislikes: TBA

Fears/Phobias:
TBA

In their civilian form Akira is a quiet and somewhat reserved person. They enjoy walking around scenic areas with their sketchbook; doodling any wildlife they happen to find along the way. Many common animals they find along their walks they name and create little personalities for with these sketches.

Akira is overall pretty easygoing. They take things as they come, good or bad. Go with the flow and whatnot. 100% the kind of person who you could walk up to at 3am, say “we’re going to the amusement park” and they’d just get up and get ready no questions asked. Psh, schedules? What are those? If they randomly decide they want a slushie at 7 in the morning by god, they’re walking to the corner store at 7am for a slushie.

Trailblaze’s personality is very different, however. Much like how anonymous people on the internet sometimes go absolutely buckwild, so does Trailblaze. Their Wanderlust is ramped up to 11 and they become much more open and outgoing. There’s no filter as Trailblaze. Not like anything they say can be traced back to Akira, right? R-right? Of course, this doesn’t mean Trailblaze is a total asshole or anything. They just do what they want, when they want, and explore for the thrill of exploration. Their morals solely depend on what would make the day more exciting. Assuming the excitement wouldn’t put them in outright peril.

Tl;dr, Trailblaze is Akira’s inner chaotic extrovert

Holder Abilities

Special Ability

Trailblaze! (power of guidance)

Activated using the key word “Trailblaze!”. This power allows its holder to mark a person or object when touched. This person/object will then have a glowing orange trail which follows behind them which only the holder can see, allowing the holder to always find their location for the power’s 5 minute duration. This power is best used against a person as a last resort, typically when the targeted individual is attempting to flee battle. Using this ability on an object has similar properties, though is far more utilitarian. Trailblaze tends to use object marking as a trail marker when off wandering in unknown areas. Who needs google maps when you can just mark the pillow in your hotel? After using the trailblaze ability and the 5 minute timer has passed the user will automatically de-transform to re-fuel their kwami

Active AbilityTBA

Passive Ability ATBA

Passive Ability BTBA

Passive Ability CTBA

Weapons/Tools: Once transformed Trailblaze is equipped with a rope dart. When not in use this wraps around their body to mimic the look of a Jerboa's tail, but can easily be removed to act both as a weapon and as a means of transportation. What could be more fun than swinging around the city on a rope like spider man

Miraculous History

The miraculous of the jerboa has historically been used for good, with holders often using its power for rescue missions or mass evacuations. For example, one could use this power to mark locations of trapped civilians after an earthquake in order to find proper authority to help or mark the location of an out of the way safe trail to pass through. Typically the Jerboa miraculous has been used used alongside a partner or team to maximize the effectiveness of it’s powers.

It’s unclear how this miraculous was lost, but it’s pretty easy to assume as much. A miraculous used in times of disaster with a Kwami that’s the equivalent of a squirrel on caffeine? No wonder the thing was lost. Either the last holder met an unfortunate end or the hyperactive little kwami wandered off with it. Whatever the reason, it eventually wound up in the wilderness of rural australia to eventually be picked up by Akira.

Kwami Personality

Jumpp is a tiny little bundle of chaos. She’s an acrobat with damn near infinite energy. She’s very high strung and particular about how certain things are done. This often results in her doing the same exact thing over and over and over again until it’s “right”. That said, what she considers “right” is often confusing and nonsensical. She loves to explore and requires her holder to be particularly vigilant in order to not lose or expose her to the world.

Being the Kwami of Guidance, Jumpp has a very strong memory towards particular people or things she likes. You cannot hide these things from her, especially Peanut butter. It seems she has an innate pull towards the stuff and can seemingly find it anywhere. Best not to question her about it. Not unless you want the longest, most confusing explanation of her “inner guiding force” to ever exist.

Backstory

Akira grew up with their father in a small yet modestly sized home off in the boonies of Australia. Their hometown was so far away from any major city, or other towns for that matter, that it was a nearly two hour drive just to get to a decently sized supermarket. An isolating childhood for the most part, but Akira never minded the solitude.

Their Father worked as a park ranger. Most of his days were spent driving from location to location in order to track the happenings of weather and local wildlife. He was the kind of person to keep an eye out for wildfires or take care of particularly dangerous animals. In an odd sense he was kind of the local animal control. If an injured or sick animal was found by someone in town it’d be brought to him.

Needless to say, Akira grew up with a healthy appreciation for their local environment. What young child wouldn’t be excited to care for that cute little magpie that flew into their neighbors window? Or a tiny little wombat that got hit by someone’s car?

All of this also contributed to Akira’s desire to explore. Their home was surrounded by nothing but wilderness on all sides. Oftentimes they’d wander the outer bounds of home, pretending to be a wilderness explorer or a wild animal. While off on their walks Akira would also pick up little trinkets they found along the way. Very simple things like a single lost earring or a particularly shiny bottlecap. They’ve always had a keen eye for nicknacks and even came up with a system to determine weather something was “ok” to take. A bizarre system which included location of items, amount of time they’ve been sitting undisturbed, and overall value. Oh, and the most important one: How easy it is to carry said item back home.

Being so remote, most of Akira’s early interactions with the outside world were via the good ole internet. Hour upon hour of their free time was spent bumming around various chatrooms or playing simple online games with internet friends. It was really the only option for interaction with people assumed to be their peers. In small towns like the one they grew up in there really aren’t many people their own age around. Much of their schooling was done online as well. If it wasn’t online, it was some half baked attempt at homeschooling by their father, which was almost always “let’s drive out on our four wheeler and identify local plant species”.

Their adolescent years were mostly spent alone, lost as to what direction to take in life. Akira had always just assumed they’d end up like their father, but was that what they really wanted? Or was that just the only foreseeable path in life? It was all so confusing, so rather than actually sitting down and trying to figure their life out Akira just slipped further and further into their own little world. A world of online chatrooms and wandering deeper and deeper into the uncharted wilderness that was their backyard.

Eventually Akira found their path, albeit in a rather unexpected way. One day while off on a walk they stumbled across a peculiar item. What looked like a gold bracelet half buried in the mud along a nearby riverbank. According to their rules on picking up trinkets like this, rather than picking it up the first day they saw it they instead waited. For the next week they made a mental note of the bracelet’s location and condition. Something this valuable clearly belongs to someone. And if that someone really valued this item they’d surely go looking for it. They didn’t want to take it without giving the previous owner a chance to find and reclaim it. That wouldn’t be fair.

Well, as luck would have it, this item was left totally untouched a week later. Day in and day out the bracelet remained caked in mud half buried near the riverbank. Akira decided that if it’s owner really cared about it they would have found it by now. It was officially, in their mind, unclaimed property ripe for the taking. This is where they met Jumpp.

While not totally unaware of the miraculous, Akira was never really exposed to them. Sure, heroes and villains existed. They heard about these happenings on the news every now and then, but the hows and whys about their existence was never really questioned. But now, right in front of them, was an item that could grant them mysterious powers and a magical being there to explain how it all worked. It was amazing!

Nowadays Akira’s alter ego is a local legend. Well, maybe not legend per say. More… That one crazy person in town everyone vaguely knows about. As Trailblaze Akira follows in their father’s footsteps, albeit on a much grander scale. Exploring the local and foreign lands in order to log the happenings of the surrounding environment. Traveling to far off places to see the sights they never could growing up and, naturally, getting themself into super-powered mischief. Hey, just because they’re an adult doesn’t mean playing pretend is off the table. Besides, it’s SO much more fun to pretend to be an explorer or a wild animal when you have literal super powers on your side!

In her civilian form Akira is just as soft spoken and reclusive as ever. Most locals know them as “the hiker”. Whenever they leave to go do super powered shenanigans they simply say they’re off hiking or backpacking. No one ever questions it. Otherwise they’re at home on their computer, still chatting away in chatrooms or random discord servers. Occasionally they’ll make an extra buck pawning some of the trinkets they “acquired” on their journeys. That said, their real job is as a part time vet tech in the local wildlife rehabilitation centre.

  • Check out the google doc for more info lmao
  • The trinket pickup rules… Those… They’re just my IRL rules. I have the brain of a crow and I must pickup that rusted bolt or that abandoned lego man on the ground if I happen upon it. GIVE TRINKETS >:D
  • I 100% shamelessly picked Jerboa as my miraculous because of ARK. I… Can’t help it. I’ve tamed every Jerboa I’ve found. I have 600 Jerboa at my base, send help.
  • Eastern Jerboa was chosen because of my fascination with Australian wildlife and I wanted an excuse to make a character with the same fascination. The Eastern Jerboa, or Eastern Jerboa Marsupial, is also known as the Kultarr. It is also not found in eastern Australia, rather it’s native to southern Australia.
  • Trailblaze was also based on a cringey old superhero OC I made back in like 2014 ish named chipmunk girl who was… A girl with all the powers of a chipmunk. Yeah no the character was horribly written, but the design was adorable and  I took heavy inspiration from it. Chipmunk girl was not a miraculous OC.
  • CHIPPED/MISSING FRONT TEETH IS AN ADORABLE CHARACTER DESIGN TRAIT AND I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL. Psh, dental implants? Never heard of ‘em. Besides, they suck to have put in. I know from experience ;w;
