Lasite

Lasitw was shunned and ostracized by her family. They were all darkly-colored, large, and well-built, whereas she was white and tiny. Her mother was also unable to have any additional offspring after her, so she was viewed as a curse in that sense, too. Her unusual appearance was something her family tried to hide for as long as they could. When word got out that they were hiding a potential heir to the throne, she was cast out and forbidden to return lest she face execution or permanent time down in the dungeons. Heartbroken and unsure what to do at her young age - she quickly learned the rest of the world was just as unforgiving and brutal as her family. Having to resort to a life of stealing and pettiness for a while, Lasite was able to eventually give that up once she obtained her first sword and taught herself how to use it. She began entering tournaments both legal and not-so-legal. Most yielded good reward and allowed her to stay at cheap inns and be able to go to sleep without a hungry belly. After happening to save a peasant-disguised caravan from a group of bandits, she was offered a chance at a new life - the head royal guard of the neighboring kingdom.
