Stardust Scroll is an ancient warlock from Pre-Equestrian history, specializing in Time-related dark magic. Older than even Starswirl, it lost their best friend to the bitterness of the three pony tribes. Progressively consumed by his own hatred of the ponies, what was once a dream of sharing magic with others became supplying dangerous individuals with even darker magic. No longer affected by the passage of time, Stardust's feats include creating Grogar his Bewitching Bell, the Evil Sorceress her Memory Stone, and generally creating powerful dark artifacts they would sell to villains.

     As centuries passed, Stardust unknowingly began to grow fonder of friendship again as it came across four ponies. One by one, he granted them gifts and went on its way, only to discover the ponies returned. They pledged, out of love, eternal loyalty to Stardust. Together, the five strengthened Stardust's operation of crafting and distributing dark magic. But they were stopped when the Tree of Harmony summoned six heroes to put an end to their plans. They banished all but Stardust, who was saved by their friends. The unicorn could not bear the reality. They once again had lost their only companions. History had repeated itself. Except this time, he was going to do something about it. And the Princess of Friendship would pay for this injustice.
