Stellar Blue is a Toonkind DnD expy based on the Disney character Darkwing Duck.

Stell is very similar to the character that inspired him; he's heroic, kind, and strives to do the right thing... but can also be melodramatic, ill-tempered, and self-centered at times.

Of course, he's more than just a darkwing bootleg-- he has his own backstory, relationships, and with each passing game becomes ever more of a distinct character! He has a socially akward streak a mild wide, was born into and left a circus-based crime family, has since been forcefully semi-adopted by an immortal crime boss, and has had a crush on a mysterious cowpoke for like more than a year and still hasn't canonically realized it.

Personality/Stats
Nimble Nimrod.

Ideals: Strive for fame and glory, but don't let it get in the way of doing the right thing.

Flaws: Can ramble when nervous. Generous with snide remarks. Self-aggrandizing, shaky confidence, easily riled by teasing/insults/ect.

  • Has Expertise in Investigation (+7) and Perception (+6), eh at Insight (+0). He's good at picking up on clues... unless it involves reading people.
  • Proficiency in Performance (+3). Can only play the saxophone.
  • Despite his high dexterity, consistant bad luck has led him to seem a little clumsy. Seems great at it though when there's no one around to witness his acrobatic prowess.
  • Has Expertise in Deception (+6), but isn't actually much one for lying. (Self-aggrandizing aside, of course.)
Inventory

Backstory
The Life and Crime Fighting of Stellar Blue.

Once upon a Crime

Growing up in a "shady 2-star circus" that had been owned and operated by his family for generations, he was frequently overshadowed by the other performers and often neglected by his mother and father, who were apparently too busy with rehearsals, performances, and the family "side business" to give him much more than critiques on his techniques. He left on bad terms after it was discovered he had been sabotaging their criminal dealings as an act of (arguably altruistic) teenage rebellion.

Acting Out

Once on his own, he attempted to pursue a career in acting. Unfortunately for the wannabe thespian, it seemed that for any role he auditioned for, there was always a more charismatic toon ready to snatch it away from him.

After repeatedly trying and failing to kickstart an acting career, he decided to put his acrobatic and crime-busting background to use and give vigilantism a whirl. Donning his unused stage name "Stellar Blue," he is fully committed to his role as the daring jay of justice.

Vigil-antics

As a wandering hero, Stellar Blue finds himself encountering all sorts of people. He's befriended (and fallen for) a mysterious cowpoke with a missing face and unsettling choice of deity; has (begrudgingly) become amicable aquaintances with a ceral stealing rabbit; has been offered a place to stay by a hitman of all things; and... has found himself considered a son by a 200+ year old crime lord who sees his current heroics as an amusing phase he'll grow bored of, just as her own heroics had proven to be a century or so prior.

At the latest, Stell's found himself with an unexpected apprentice (and potential adoptive daughter) and a need for a more stable life style-- well, a more stable homebase and salary, at least. He... may or may not have been technically poor and homeless for a good long while now. His quest for enough cash to rent a two-bedroom appartment has led him to join a group of toon explorers called EGAD. While it doesn't come with a guaranteed paycheck, there is the possibility of finding some much needed treasure.

self-assigned adoptive mother

You accidentally get invited to a crime lord's party and the next thing you know she's decided you're her son now...

I don't know what to think of Naara, really. On the one hand, she's a crime lord. On the other hand, she's offered me food and shelter. On the OTHER other hand, she's evil. But she's also more powerful than I could hope to take down right now, so... might as well not look a gift horse in the mouth. ...Even if said horse is Definitely Misplaced Motherly Instincts.

Close Friend/Crush

Ah, Partner… met them at an inn during winter. I was a cold and tired grump at the time, made a fool of myself by spilling hot cocoa everywhere and… Somehow, we still managed to become friends? Probably an oversight on his part—er, I mean, ha! Who wouldn’t want to be friends with a guy as cool and incredible as me?

...Really though, I’m thankful he’s stuck around as my friend. They’re so cool, and mysterious, but are full of kindness beneath their hardened gun-slinging exterior. They almost make my embarrassing blunders feel worth it whenever they respond to one with a warm chuckle. Honestly, I think they’d make a great hero if they ever quit the gun-for-hire gig. Which, I mean, I hope they do someday. (What is with me and befriending villains and morally grey gunmen??)

Ahem, anyway, we have routine meetups were we get hot cocoa together! And we also keep randomly bumping into each other. Even in random forests on other continents. Somehow. Not complaining, it’s just confusing. But yeah, long story short, P’s a good friend.
