Small Backstory:

Daniel Walker is as pitiful and ordinary as you can get. Or so he thought. His entire life, Daniel lives as just some sick nobody, which he doesn't mind not being in the spotlight. He's incredibly intelligent and stays out of trouble the best he can, lest he find punishment from his father. From Daniel's viewpoint, his father is a mysterious man. No one understands him, not even his own son. He sees moments where his father fiercely protects him, ready to kill anyone who dares to lay a finger on his son. But other moments, should Daniel leave the door open and let air out, or drop a glass object while cleaning, he fears it may be his last moment on earth. He knows his father isn't a good person, and he knows that the man has done terrible things. But in those moments that he stays up in the hospital when Daniel's sickness flares up, he knows Travis loves him... he just doesn't know how to show it. 

This all changes when he random shape shifts after his sickness flares up. Travis, desperate to save his son, and knowing that no medicine on earth can cure him, frantically sends out a transmission in hopes someone like them will find him. And with a streak of luck, Travis' old friends answer his call. Now, Travis has no choice but to tell Daniel about what he is, and even about his own past. Everything Daniel knows is blown away, and suddenly he realizes why his life never felt right. It was because he was something else trying to be human. Trying to be something he wasn't. 

But now, he, his father, and his new friends are forced to run as the Council targets Daniel and Travis, as well as the other adults, all who have in one way or another have broken the law. All find themselves in the middle of a Universal War with the only objective to survive. Yet that's not all, Daniel has to learn how to control his powers while also searching for a cure before it's too late...

Special Note: 

Later in the story, they discover the lost Vrelkai Kingdom, and learn that Travis is the heir to Valentine, making him the rightful King. However, Daniel, despite being Travis' son and an heir to Valentine as well, is NOT seen as a royal... this could be related to his sickness, or his abnormal magic.
