Vail's mother (and also The Lighthouse Keeper's mother.)

Myrgh was a Merrow who travelled too far from Irish waters, all the way to the English waters, without realizing it. She was resting amongst some rocks and failed to notice the man who reached out and grabbed her cap. She tried to get it back, but the man kept it out of her reach. 

[am tired rn but basically she goes to live with him and he kept the cap hidden from her, wrapped in magic-deterrent herbs, but she kinda didnt mind for a few years and actually managed to fall in love with Rylan (i read the Merrows are benevolent and kinda fall in love with humans often. some actively seek out human males bc Merrow males are fuckin ugly), raise a pair of twins for a year. But then her instincts resurfaced and Rylan noticed it and returned her cap to her. She kinda wishes he didn't do that but now that she got the cap back, her instincts become stronger and irresistable. Within a few days she couldnt resist it anymore and decided to leave but not before taking one of the twins with her. She put this twin on a lighthouse island she had found and raised the kid, visiting them now and then. Maybe. Hmmmmmmmmmmm....]
