Flick's parent, a retired fear-soldier that's rather highly regarded as one of the best fear-soldiers of the modern era. When they were in duty, they fought a lot of battles they picked poorly - it's kind of a miracle they're still alive. Their tendency to run blindly into battle jaded them as they grew older. They still fully believe in the means of invading planets to the end of taking their resources to try and rebuild their home planet, but they definitely think that the job of a fear-soldier isn't nearly as awesome as most make it out to be.

Vermi birthed and raised Flick by themself, despite having a sizable friend group that they could have let assist in raising Flick. They were concerned with making sure Flick grew up to be as great of a fear-soldier as they were, feeling that since they had become known for their stellar performance in duty, they had to pass it on. Flick ultimately failed to reach Vermi's high expectations. The two have grown more distant than ever, and neither really want to see each other again.

Despite having no need for their gun anymore, Vermi was granted special permission to continue carrying it. Legally, it's as a symbol of their achievements and loyalty, but to them it's a keepsake of the past.
