Suni is a young footsoldier in the Yiga Clan. Born and raised there, he is supremely loyal to the clan, despite secretly harboring doubts about their beliefs and alignment with Ganon. Though he is below average as a fighter, his agility and quick thinking keep him barely afloat as a soldier.
Like many members of the Yiga Clan, he was sent out into Hyrule under order to look for and, if opportunity presents itself, kill the hero. However, Suni is at heart a gentle person and strongly dislikes fighting, and so he mostly spends his time wandering the wilderness looking for scenic spots to watch the sun rise and set from, secretly hoping not to run into the mysterious hero. He also enjoys searching for koroks, his favorite creatures, though they usually run in fear when they see him.
History
Personality
Suni, despite being a trained assassin, has a very gentle nature. He dislikes confrontation and is fond of small creatures- especially koroks. It isn't uncommon to find him whispering secrets to a squirrel or sitting in the grass braiding flower chains. However, this leads to him often being a pushover, especially with those he views to have more authority than him. He gets super nervous around others and tends to avoid eye contact, staring meekly at the ground instead. When traversing Hyrule he goes out of his way to avoid travelers on the road even while in disguise.
As far as Yiga Clan members go, Suni is considered pretty below average. He isn't particularly strong and often hesitates during fights. Because of this he has been berated many times and is now deeply insecure of his abilities. He believes he is inherently weak and views his gentleness as a flaw. The one asset that sets him apart positively from his peers is his cleverness. He thinks quick and creatively.
Suni is fiercely loyal to his clan, but also to his friends. Betraying anyone who places their trust in him is entirely out of the question. Once you get past the stuttering nervousness and insecurities he is a brave and determined person who does his best to live up to others expectations. He is also surprisingly sarcastic, often rolling his eyes and making snarky quips around those he is comfortable with.
Weapons & Clothing
[ Armor ] - Suni wears the typical Yiga Clan armor: red and gray body suit, leather neck brace, arm and leg wraps, and a belt and mask, both emblazoned with the Yiga Clan symbol.
[ Clothing ] - When not in his footsoldier armor Suni typically wears a very basic red tunic, belted at the waist, and brown traveller's pants, plus an old pair of comfortable boots.
[ Weapons ] - Suni, like all other Yiga footsoldiers, uses a vicious sickle and duplex bow in combat. He also carries a small knife for cutting fruit and carving wood with.
Skills & Spells
Agility aka gymnastics
Suni was born with natural flexibility, harnessed through intensive training. Light on his feet and unafraid to throw his entire body into it, he can backflip, roll, and cartwheel his way out of any situation- which is good since he hates fighting.
Quick-Thinking modern problems require modern solutions
Unlike most Yiga, who rely heavily on speed and aggression, Suni excels instead in clever thinking. He's quick-witted and creative, finding solutions even under extreme stress. He uses this ability mostly to make up for his lack of strength- and preferably to stay out of range of enemy attacks.
Teleportation hehe run away
Like all Yiga Clan members Suni has the ability to teleport using hand signals and a chant. Teleporting requires energy: the further he teleports the more energy it takes. However, when given the opportunity he prefers to walk places himself, saving teleporting mostly for emergencies.
Disguise you'll never see him coming
Suni's disguise is simple- he looks mostly the same but his hair is entirely black and his eyes brown. His scars also disappear. Aside from that he wears his normal travelling clothes. This makes the disguise easy to replicate and keep up without entirely draining his energy.
Trivia
- Some of his favorite pastimes are making flower chains, carving bits of wood into shapes, and looking for scenic spots he can watch the sunrise or sunset from.
- Koroks are his favorite creature, though they tend to avoid him.
- He cannot swim and thus is a little afraid of water.
- His hair is naturally half white and half black. He keeps the black side long, as is tradition for the Yiga, and wears it in a high ponytail while in armor. The white side he cuts short, though, both so that it is not visible in his armor and also because it signifies him being only half-clan. Keeping the white side short is a sign of his loyalty. However, he allows one piece to grow which he keeps in a braid, identical to the black braid on the other side of his face.
